Will only probs be 65-70% utilized end of year. Junior, takes into account 3 weeks for honeymoon. Great reviews from partners though (i’m in a small group). Am i ok?

Are you still busy now? Have seen many colleagues only have 50% utilization year to date. Definitely over hiring .

Received ECT AD in ops at BCG. I have two questions:
1. Is it difficult for these roles to get utilization/billability targets?
2. If I work for say 3-5 years, opportunity for good industry exits?

Shameless plug post. We have won a pretty big engagement and I’m responsible for the core modelling component. Told the PM I’ll need an absurd amount of hours to complete the modelling which they agreed to allocate (roughly 3-4 weeks at full utilization). I’ve finished in under a week and plan to just chill for a month billing hours I know damn well are not needed. Has anyone done the same so I can clear my conscience?

Does anyone else in public accounting feel bogged down by the need to be constantly billable. I read posts in other bowls/Reddit about people in industry taking about having nothing to do or finishing their work in a couple days and it blows my mind. I’m always so stressed about my utilization, admin time, and going over budget.

What is the benefit of high utilization % at PWC AC?

I joined last year and have utilization of 100%+. Wanted to know if pwc provides any incentive via hike/bonus % for this?

If NO, then going forward I will undercharge hours and get the utilization reduced to 50% or whichever is the min requirement. I dont see any reason to help firm earn more if I am not incentivized.

How often are y'all sending proposals/pitching for more projects than you can take on? Do you play it conservative so it's rare you'll win more work than capacity allows, but with a higher chance of low utilization if opps fall through? Or more aggressive where you stack up opps for the same time frame, with a higher risk of having to turn down work if too many are awarded? And if that, any ways you manage client comms to limit hurting relationships?

Hi all, need some advice here, like a lot of others here, Google is definitely a dream company for me to work at. I come from a non-technical background, currently working as a project manager + associate product manager (20% project situation) at a SaaS company. I would really appreciate the input on my chances for a Program manager/ associate product manager role. Also, what are some of the key skills that are utilized extensively in these roles, which google considers a great asset?

How much does utilization matter your first year? Staffed on a project (hired 4 weeks ago), but I’m not being given 8 hours of work on this project. I want to hit my utilization targets and do well, but realistically there’s only about 4-5 hours of work to do so far.
