Do you have to know someone to get a job at Apple? Do they find you? I feel like the applying through the LinkedIn job posting is just sending the application out to space.

Interviewed at this shop 3y ago. Rounds went well. Got invested, excited &..ghosted. Reached out to their recruiter a few times. Nothing.

Last week, she reached out about an opening.

How is this ok?

Do you take all recruiter calls or only ones you’re truly interested in? If you take them all, when do you end the conversation if you’re not interested? After the first recruiter call? After interviewing? Waiting til you get an offer for kicks?

What’s it like working at DDB? Pros? Cons? Just wrapped up an interview for a PM role.

Interviewing for a few positions right now but since things are still mostly remote, I have no idea how to suss out the ‘vibe’ of an agency. I’ve turned down offers before because after getting an in-person tour of a place, I could tell its employees are miserable. How can I tell how it is to work at a place when I’m only ‘meeting’ 1 or 2 people over zoom who are obviously only going to answer ‘work culture’ questions with a positive spin?

I’m pretty green when it comes to interviewing. What are some ways to disarm awkwardness / get the conversational banter going prior to going through the work?

I’ve been interviewing for a role at a company that I really want to work with, and yesterday I got an email from the recruiter wanting to know if I was available for a quick 15 minute call today. Do recruiters call people to reject them? My friends say it’s a good sign, and I am used to just getting the “thanks but no thanks” *email* when I don’t get a job I interviewed for, but I’m seriously just freaking out right now. Am I being ridiculous?

Should you agree to interview for a temporary position when you would only accept full-time?

So I know there’s lots of talk about “not burning bridges,” in our industry. What’s the consensus on ghosting? For example, I’ve gotten fellow creatives interviews and work, only to have them ghost me when I reach out asking them for help. Or people offer to help me, then don’t respond after I reach out? (Sometimes these have been CD’s so Idk, maybe people are busy?) Do you keep these people on LinkedIn or delete away?

Interviewing for a job that hads 12 reports, I have only had 3 reports in the past. Am I taking on too much for my experience?

I just interviewed for a job, after I told them my salary requirement, they said the position is up to $30k more than I asked. Now I feel unqualified just because of the salary. Is this normal?

I’ve been rejected countless times now. But it surely hits different when you make it through to the final rounds of interviews and when they make you do a project in the process, too. Interview/writing test question: is it inappropriate to point out a spelling error in the materials provided for a writing test? The material is definitely client-facing for a current client and is for a 2021 initiative. Not detrimental, but they’ve emphasized wanting someone with attn to detail

I have a 2 hour interview with an agency tomorrow for a freelance role. This is my first time speaking with them, a recruiter set me up with them last week and they liked me enough to want to meet me (!!) I’m meeting the members of the team individually which is why it’s so long, but do you think a 2 hour interview right off the bat is a good sign?
