I was in audit for about 4 years then switched to provisions. I’m now 7 years in and want a more steady schedule. I like the client aspect of public accounting, flexibility and mentoring/training younger associates, but feel pretty meh about tax in general. Senior attorneys at v100, how common is it for attorneys who start at small firms to lateral to biglaw? Have you worked with any? Conventional wisdom is always that if you don’t start there it’s hard to “trade up”. My coworker and I just did it to two different great v30 firms, and I’m wondering if it’s really that uncommon? So can I accept the offer from first company and then if second one also sends an offer then let the first company know I would like to reject? Also i am on H1B visa. Should I be concerned with that?

Industry accountant with 5 YoE, can move into senior position with $100k base, or lateral move into big 4 as associate in assurance AWM.

Interested in capital markets, PE, investment...Senior role is unreleated to these industries while PA role could potentially open doors? Just would hate not getting that salary bump after I can finally start seeing some real money after 5 years.....

Also potential advisory role in regional firm but nothing concrete...

I'm interviewing with KKR for a Principal role in their real estate group. All online salary resources are all in alignment with a total comp of $200k+. I'm assuming based on the average salary reported across these portals for principal that those figures apply to the RE group as well.
