So this probably wouldn’t work... but I wish there was a way I could flag anonymous comments from toxic fishbowl users, and then some how make it so fishbowl tells me if an agency I’m applying to is filled with those flagged users... wouldn’t that be nice? Or too big brother?

How hard would it be to make the jump from designer to art director? For context, when applying for this job I thought I would be a designer with some ideation opportunities (there are no Junior Art Directors in our creative hierarchy). Craving for more ideation/big-thinking art direction in my next gig.

How do you approach interviewing someone more senior than you? Small team so we’ll be interacting a lot.

Recently went through 6 rounds of interviews for a role I'm very qualified for. After the final interview with the VP, I was told that the job went to someone else because she "had a little more CPG experience."
After 6+ hours of interviews, and that being the only feedback, does the given reason feel accurate, or just being nice? How likely did I just botch something in the final interview and they're being non-specific?

Had a final interview with a TBWA agency earlier this week and the recruiter scheduled a call with me later today with an update. Does TBWA ever call candidates with bad news to tell them they didn’t get the job? Or should I be expecting an offer? The job search has beat me up so much that I no longer expect a recruiter call after a final interview to have news with an offer :(

Story Time. A couple weeks ago, a recruiter reached out about an opportunity that would be a large pay boost (hello client side) from my current role. I scheduled a call to discuss the role and it seemed everything went well and on that call. The recruiter said the next step would be his assistant reaching out to schedule the first interview. I think, “Great!” A few days later, the recruiter emailed me “Thanks for your interest but we’ve decided to go with an internal candidate.” *continued*

my agency lost the RFP pitch for my account, i interviewed out of courtesy for an open position on a diff account at same agency but saw external opportunities i would rather pursue. now my agency wants me to resign instead of getting severance because i declined their offer and my old account has terminated. Has anyone else been in this position? Did you try and ask for severance?

The most places you had to interview before landing a job?

My direct report is interviewing and likely will receive an offer soon for a role that is a better opportunity for their growth. What is my obligation to tell my manager?

Is it just me or is it extremely rude when recruiters reach out to you, know your current job title, then proceed to interview you only to come back and say “we’ve decided to go with a more Sr. Creative.” After A. You were told this was for a mid level position, and B. You were told they were going to set up some calls with creative directors. Which they never did?

I interviewed with one of those west coast tech companies, building a creative dept. I was mostly just poking around to see if they’d do permanent WFH. They won’t. But then they got to asking about my salary request. For the first time, I said “Ya know, I have to think about the role. Have they narrowed down a salary band?” Holy crap, I would have shorted myself by like $50k-$70k Always push for the salary band! Make them put their cards on the table.

Advice Pls: I’ve been at my current agency for 2 years and I’m in a rare situation, where all of my clients are great, in addition to the internal teams I work with. I interviewed for a more senior role at another agency, that would be my ideal next step in my career. The pay is more (nothing crazy/on par with other agencies). I’m hesitant to leave now given my current situation /don’t want to start something new in the summer, but I know there are no promo opportunities. Should I stay or go?

Applying to a new position with my partner. All the interviews have been together. For the money talk, should we do that together or approach it solo. Im confident in my negotiating skills and don’t want them to mess it up, but i don’t necessarily have a reason to think they will.
