Interviewing for in-house tax associate position for a REIT. What is the standards for equity comp - would it make sense for someone coming in at the bottom ask for equity?

Feeling confused: I interviewed for a position at a large well-know firm, 6 rounds of interviews (Final with Director), then they called to negotiate salary and said they would like to make me an offer, 2 weeks of silence, now I get an email saying they want me to do an additional interview with an associate consultant at the company.... are they buying time? What’s going on? I’ve already talked to the director

Had an interview with a TINY firm. Pretty much one partner and one associate(that i would replace as they are moving). Partner said PY they made 900k. He then says if you do 20% of the clients for 180k you tell me how much you want of that 180k. Okay so how do i say i want at least half of that when i have 1.5 years experience.... current associate said he made 40k year one and 50k year two...soemthing doesn’t add up???

BCG 🐠, anyone has any info on BCG first round interviews for FT Associate role in NA? The application deadline was on Aug 18th and it’s almost been a month and haven't gotten any emails or updates. Heard a lot of people got rejections but I still haven’t received mine yet 😞

Do experienced hires get case interviews at McKinsey? For an associate position

Is there anyone on here who’s switched sides - from defense to plaintiff - and can speak to their experience / general things to think about? I’ve just moved and gone on/going through multiple interview rounds with a big defense firm and a plaintiffs firm doing high verdict litigation (established enough to pay pretty good associate salaries). Not trying to jinx myself before any offers, but I’ve really liked the people at both firms and want to take my time to consider all angles (cont)

What do you do when small local firms won’t give your resume the time of day, but everyone you ask for resume feedback on says your materials are fine? These aren’t big law or boutiques, we’re talking probably paying $20-30 an hour part time as an associate with firms of 1-3 attorneys generally. I know biglaw is recovering from COVID but has it really hurt small law so badly getting an interview is next to impossible? Any and every practice area. Work is work. Approx. 500k local population size.

Currently working as a Senior Associate in Corporate Finance for a publishing company. Interviewing for start-ups to join the FP&A team leveraging my current FP&A skills. Made it to final rounds of two well known NYC start up companies. A senior leader (chief revenue officer) of one of our business units has pitched a Chief of Staff role for me where I would help him run the business, manage his direct reports and perform strategic analysis.

I'm taking the bar for the third time next week. I did really well in law school and was highly valued and treated well as a student law clerk. (Lots of substantive work, job offer, etc)

Am I going to face a lot of prejudice in my job search now that I've failed twice? Do I need to volunteer up front that I've failed the bar twice when interviewing for an associate position? Any general advice?

What does communication frequency look like when interviewing at mck for an associate, expert role? My recruiter has been taking 1-1.5 weeks to respond and has had to reschedule calls multiple times. (2 months just to get to first 1st round - had intro call with recruiter and a screen with the solution leader) I’m not sure if this is normal or if it should turn me off.

I’m a mid-level RE associate who lateraled about a year ago. My hours were good and I was on track until April - ever since then it’s been super slow. I now only have about 800 hours to date, 100 of which are pro bono hours that count toward our hours requirement. Is there anyone else this fucked with hours?

I’m starting to look for jobs just in case but it would really suck getting the axe especially since I like this firm and don’t want to interview when I haven’t been here that long.
