What’s the hardest level/role within the corporate ladder in consulting? From analyst to MD, what are your thoughts?

Looking to exit consulting. Currently an analyst in SF and I will be applying for roles in big tech (FB, Google, Square, etc). Since I have multiple areas of interest, is it okay to apply to multiple job positions at these firms since they are so large, or should I stick with only one or two roles?

Hey guys. I am currently an analyst in EY, short of completing my 1 year. I have managed to secure a referral at McKinsey. Wanted to know if there’s any McKinsey folks willing to go over my resume, would love to give it my best shot before i send it through.

I have an offer for an analyst position at Deloitte but due to Covid and delayed hiring, start date is pushed back to a year after graduating from a master's program. I took up work during the gap so will have one years experience as a senior engineer. I'd rather be in consulting than engineering but feel that the Masters and year of experience are not valued given that there's only a slight pay bump over bachelor's analysts. Since I am 24 now, does it make sense to wait till post MBA to join?

Saw an acquaintance go from a year as an analyst at Deloitte to a senior associate at EY for a year, then directly into a FAANG position that requires 5+ years of experience (I was rejected from this due to lack of YOE even though I had more than this person). Other than being extremely salty about this, how does one progress this quickly though companies?!

Dhivya Suryadevara accepted a Senior Financial Analyst role after a one year stint at UBS IBD post Harvard MBA. In the end things fall into place as they’re meant to be. In Dhivya’s case, she ended up as the CFO of an automotive giant. Keep learning and stop obsessing over titles early in your careers. :)

I've been working in Consulting (Tech, Delivery, Strategy) for over 5 yeas now (10 years of Tech background). Started as an Senior Analyst and now a Solutions Architect. Last month Amazon UK approached me for a Senior Solutions Architect position and interviews have been successful. What's the move like, and what kind of compensation I should expect?

Finished a year of D365 tech consulting at a company with a strong D365 practice. I’ve done solid project work and have great reviews. Based on the experience, what role (analyst, senior analyst, etc) and salary would I expect at Avanade?
