Is “Financial Analyst” a dead end job? I have an interview this week and the role reads like the title should be something like “SEC Accountant”. Can’t help but wonder if there’s something I’m missing or a reason they title it as such? TIA!

Heard about Blackstone’s PE/Tactical Opportunities - Portfolio Management Program - Analyst. Do you know how they’re compensated? Also is it a good exit for someone post MBA with 2 years of consulting? TIA

Good exit? Don't want to take PE for the sake of PE, want it to have legitimately transferable skills in modeling, valuation, investment with MBA almost certain after 2 years. Concerned l'd get "stuck" on portfolio monitoring or cold calling

Management Consulting Recruiting in 2020. For Analyst roles, do you guys see any recruitment activity for the fall? I have ~1 YOE. Hoping there may be some hiring due to potential smaller start classes (due to rescinded offers, internships, etc.)

is it a good move to take an industry role (financial analyst) to gain some relevant experience and come back to B4 (transaction advisory) down the road?

Would it make any sense to lateral from an Operations role at a BB to a RFA analyst role at B4 after I’ve already done 1.5 years as an analyst at the BB? Or would it make more sense to stick it out in Ops to a AVP role? Trying to figure out which one will look better on the profile when I start applying for MBAs.

Currently in tax. Looking to leave public to either a tax analyst or GL accountant role. For tax, I can never understand those code/regs plus I dislike research and how so many things change every year. GL is easier and I can work more in Excel and automate processes which can be more fun. For those in either positions, do you like your job and why? Do you regret this job or eyeing another job?

Interviewing for a Knowledge Analyst-Org Design role at BCG.....I know it’s not “consulting” technically but what can I expect from the interview process?

I do FS audit and to be honest I hate the thought of just working my way up a PE shops internal accounting. Are there people who switch to corporate accounting at like Tech/manufacturing//construction/retail and actually like their job and what they’re doing? Can ppl make the jump to a lower level Financial analyst type role at one of these companies? I’m talking lower level, like I make 77k even taking s lay cut to 75k to pivot my job trajectory. Idk just thinking, lmk experiences please.

McKinsey Solutions - Solutions Leadership Track. I have received an offer for a Senior Analyst role and have been told the role will be mostly client facing. What should my salary range be? I’ve got 3 years of sysadmin experience and 3 years on a CIRT and am currently in discussion of being moved up into an associate manager role. I’m making 97k right now (DC Metro) but from looking around this is on the lower end given my experience. I’ve gotten offers for 20-30k more for analyst level roles at smaller companies but want to stay in something that’s on track for mgmt. Is a 30% raise too much to ask for or should I start taking these offers?

Considering EY starts at Consultant level and Deloitte at Analyst, it looks like D Manager position may be considered senior. However, the job expectations look fairly similar.
