I got an offer from Deloitte for a Sr Consultant position with the base of 145k. Yet to negotiate. I have total 7 yoe. Is this the right move considering just $10k increase in pay? How much Deloitte brand matters for exit ops? I prefer good WLB if not great and prefer travel to be under 50%

I currently lead a team of UX consultants working at an enterprise client. Recently, the consulting company got another enterprise client asking for a single UX resource and I am seriously considering it to diversify my experience. My concern is because this is a one UX resource request, leaving my current leadership position to become an Agile team feeding, UI-producing consultant. What are the questions you ask the client before you switch to another billable project to mitigate such risks?

Considering a move to BCG Consultant. Currently have a job in Strategy&. Leaving to BCG would put me in debt for a loan I have to pay back to Strategy& for covering my MBA. If I plan on staying in consulting 3-4 more years, are the exit ops actually any better at BCG. Let's put compensation aside. Purely focusing on the exit opportunity (and maybe the intangible prestige that comes from having BCG on your resume) perspective for now.

BCG fish here’s a fun one: I got denied on the application about a month ago without a referral. I was now offered a referral by a Consultant. If they referred me would I get a special link and be able to re—apply? Or would this be a waste and I should wait for the 6 month cooldown

I am moving geographies and so in a bit of dilemma. The hiring manager reached out for a consultant level role, a level down from my current title. She said the Sr. con role just filled up so either I could interview for consultant level position or wait for a few months when Sr. Consultant positions opens up. I have limited client facing experience since I went from backend to front end and also opportunity to move to desired geography. Not sure how to tackle this smartly. Any thoughts?

How and when to discuss career developments? I recently started my new role in industry as a senior consultant. Based on networking/stalking people on LinkedIn, most managers stayed in my role for 1-2 years and then got promoted to mangers. I had almost 4 years of experience at EY, so I would want to be promoted within a year or so. I’m a high performer, but I’m still learning and building relationships. When/how to bring it up to my manger for promotion goal, so I don’t come off too aggressive?

Comp and location similar. Im leaning second option because I want the title bump / don’t want to take a step back again.
