Currently an L4 entry level manager at Amazon after graduating last year. I’ve been in this position for about 6 months after taking it as an opportunity to internally move into corporate.

I’ve been peeking at internal openings lately and have been at a crossroad on whether or not it’d be more valuable to move “down” per say in title to an Analyst/Business Analyst position or apply to other “entry” level manager positions like a Program Manager.

Turned down a FAANG exit today. Think I might have messed up. I’m currently a SR making 100k TC at a boutique firm. Was offered 105k TC as a program manager. Base salary would be less than current. I would have had to relocate to a new city (don’t really want to). Similar cost of living cites. I have 5 YEO and a masters. Tried to negotiate but was told offer was firm. I interviewed for an L6 Sr program manager role and was offered an L5 program manager position at amazon. I have 5 YEO and a masters. I saw the L5 role only asks for 2 YEO. TC for the L5 is slightly more than I make now. Would accepting this be a good long term move? Would I be taking a step backwards?

After unsuccessful last few months (and numerous applications), this is one real opportunity. How should I best prepare for the interviews?
