How would you describe the distribution of intelligence/skills/experience (however loosely you want to define: are people good?) at MBB?
I would expect the median to be higher than the average population, but how’s the distribution look like? Still normally distributed?
Ps. Before you all jump on this, yes there is absolutely no scientific methodology to the question. Qualitative assessment perhaps? Experience sharing?

Any advice on how to move from MBB to IB?

How does health insurance at MBB & T2 strategy consulting firms compare to Tricare Reserve Select for a family? I’m 99% getting out of the Reserve within the next year and, assuming things go well with recruiting, would switch to the firm insurance as my primary once I start. Why almost all the PE/VC applicants get into HSW, but only 10-20% of the MBB applicants get into HSW?

I’m one year in at a T2 from undergrad and was just promoted to the post MBA level. Is it worth trying to switch to MBB for brand name and breadth of industry / project types? I am certainly on a fast track here and make the same if not more as a post MBA MBB consultant, so is the ultimate down level / comp hit worth it to switch?

People who work in MBB working 65-80 hours a week earning 100-120k are realistically earning 40-50k considering the hour pay and if overtime is considered.

Have an opportunity to move from MBB (2 years with 5-10 years of prior engineering and corp dev experience) to a VC in an operating role (asc) that has very limited deal team interaction.

Long-term, I would like to go back to business building instead of being a consultant. For me, I think this means a series B / C in strategy or corp dev, a search fund, or VC investor.

Would operating experience at a VC help me get there? Or should I keep looking / stick around and get team lead experience?
