Who is Hiring?

For junior level lateral hiring, what are the criteria/common profiles for those who got into MBB?

I saw from some posts that MBB mainly lateral hire target school alum. Is that generally true? How can I maximize my chances as a non-target who works in an industry-specific MC role at a Tier 3?

Did MBB reduce experienced hiring due to COVID last year? Or outlook for 2021?

Anyone have experience with hiring a casing coach for MBB interview prep? Is it worth it? If so, any recs?

MBB/T2 deferred/2+2 admit fish:

1. When do you plan to matriculate?
2. Do you plan to stay at your firm up until matriculation or are thinking of switching jobs during the deferral period?
3. Are you gunning for sponsorship?

In reference to a previous post by KPMG: Why are MBB people so hesitant to refer other people? Is it just a skewed sample on this app of people not wanting to refer or is there something different about their hiring process? It seems like people at every other consulting firm except those 3 are happy to look over someone’s resume and potentially refer them.

Mates, I need advice.

I'm currently working as an intern at a small firm (Biggest brazilian born firm but still small compared to MBB). But I've been studying to get into McKinsey (and Bain, but I kinda enjoy more McK), and in Brazil the next hiring process will take place at march. I'm thinking about refusing an offer from my current firm so I can study more for the upcoming process, since I've been putting 60+ hours weekly.

What you guys think it's best? To stay, or to "go big or go home"?

How does direct hiring at MBB and other consulting firms work for let's say an Associate's profile?
I mean do they mostly hire straight from campuses?
Someone told me you need 2-3 YoE in consulting to get considered for a direct hiring interview. True?

If I get rejected from MBB in the resume screening phase (computer and/or recruiter decides not to pass my resume to the hiring manager), am I still subject to the “cool down” period where I can’t apply again for another year or so? Or does that only happen if I get rejected after having an interview?

Typical MBB exit jobs?

Is getting into MBB from a consultant level Big 4 possible without placements through MBA? The two groups seem so exclusive and I hardly hear about switching jobs between the two.

Which jobs pay better than MBB? The only things that come to mind for me is PE, IB, and tech. Anything else?

Are starting salaries for the same jobs different by school? Like for example would MBB/FAANG pay more for a HBS grad than a Booth grad? Or is it just that the HBS grad has better chances at landing the position, but the pay is the same?

Are there jobs out of T15 MBA that require ~50 hrs a week and still provide a good ROI (assuming going on loans)? Not sure if the MBB grind is desirable for me.

MBA with a total of six years in supply chain and procurement consulting. Specifically what is the situation for experienced hires? Is there a hiring surge?

Love seeing all the state college grads getting jobs at MBB as interns and after graduation. It used to be rare when I graduated 5 years ago. I’m so glad to see the times change, and a fair opportunity be given to non-ivy league kids.

Now that MBAs are all going online, does it still make sense to get one as an international student? It seems internationals have the very short end of the stick and no employer wants to risk hiring one for MBB/IB/PE. Thoughts?

Any view on international opportunities? From what I understand many countries are just hiring locally (or within region). Especially for people who would required visa sponsorship, market seems to be dead even for ex-mbb or top 10 mba.

Asking for a mentee in college. She is an international student (junior) at a top 20 school. Given the current visa situation and tightening on international student hiring, do any of you know what companies hire international students for summer internships (F1 visa, would use CPT next summer)? She is an Economics major and was really hoping to do her internship in strategy consulting (interviewed with MBB, didn’t get offer). Any advice? I know she would have more options as STEM major...

So what should I prepare for a second round interview with a hiring manager for a tech firm. Ex-MBB, runs the strategy team which in interviewing for

MBB 🐠, Would anyone be willing to have a chat about your PE / CDD practices and any advice for a 1.5YOE getting past the initial CV screening to avoid being just another piece of paper in the stack? It sounds like things are busy so hopefully there is scope for hiring?

Was matched on LinkedIn to some new job posts at Bain for Manager, Client Engagement for NPS Prism. Looks like they’re hiring in a bunch of cities. Anyone familiar with the group? The JD is a pretty basic but aligns really well with my role and experience. Curious if this is a good in to MBB.
