Do you think hiring demand for MBB will persist through start of 2022

Anyone at MBB can confirm if they reject based on their intake classes being full, but don't tell you straight up?

Asking as I've heard this happen before and just happened to me - told I did the case and fit perfectly but got a super vague suggestion to offer solutions (odd, because I did). Also am at the very end of this year's hiring season.

Wonder if it's a rumour - anyone in recruiting can confirm?

Is the MBB hiring spree still happening or has this come to an end? I know it’s likely winding down but curious if still worth it to try for an interview.

Made it to final round as a lateral previously (~1.5 yrs ago) but was happy in my role since so haven’t really been looking.

MBB folks. Any way for a PhD to get into your firm? Have a friend w his PhD and is looking for a career change bc (surprise) academia is short on jobs. I told him his best bet was to get an MBA but that I would confirm with my 🐠 friends.

Do MBB firms consider academic scores even during lateral hiring? I am from target schools but did not make the shortlist on campus placements due to low cgpa. Can I apply laterally now?

Is it ever a good idea to let your leadership know that you are interviewing? Normally this would be a stupid move outside of MBB but these are not normal times,,, my boutique group had a handful of managers who all left and now it’s down to two. My leadership is declining invitations for proposals due to resourcing. Lateral hiring is more difficult than ever.

With all the recent hiring spree at MBB, did they drop their recruiting standards to be able to hire these many folks?

Is working at MBB really that good, half of the conversations on Fishbowl are about the glorious jobs at MBB. My personal feelings -- Most of the big names and big name schools produce managers (who have learnt to MANAGE) and not leader who can inspire.

Trying to get an interview at MBB. Anyone have tips? Is there actually a hiring crunch right now?

Hiring for a VC fund across Gurgaon, Delhi, and Bangalore. SPECIFICALLY looking for candidates with the below experience:
- ~3 years of post qualification experience in strategy consulting with a leading management consulting firm (MBB++)
- Preference for engineers + MBA from tier 1 institutes
- Candidates must have done projects for clients across sectors like tech, consumer etc.
- Demonstrated interest in start ups via independent projects, investments, (more in comments)....

Bain started hiring data science talent in Europe for AAG. Looking for insights. What do you think of working for MBB as a data scientist?(pros/cons) Is the work similar to respective McK/BCG groups? What is the actual work and why sudden expansion? Senior associates and senior managers are hired, why no managers? Is it 70+ hours/work week? Challenges to permanent relocation from say Bain France to Bain Switzerland provided language is not a barrier? Thanks in advance!

Got into an M7 with 50% scholarship and plan to pursue consulting (targeting MBB). Given the hiring frenzy, should I try applying with referrals now and skip the MBA? Worried that if I strike out now, firms would be less inclined to give me an interview during school, when I’d be better prepared. Also, with just under 4 YOE in business analysis, would I come in at the post MBA level?

I was just curious, and wanted to get perspectives from the community. Sometimes I get pinged by my 2nd degree contacts for a referral at a role in my current company. But they are reluctant to share their resume with me. Usually, I’ve been asked to make a connection with the hiring manager directly. Why the hesitation to share Resumes? Am I missing / overlooking something?? If it helps, in this case it’s an ex-MBB individual looking for a role in my company. Thanks!!

Are BB also hiring like crazy right now, or is it just M? And if I started at my current place like 3 months ago and let's say I get an offer from a MBB, would pivoting be frowned upon or be considered "burning bridges"?

Coming in to MBB as a lateral hire (experienced post MBA consultant).
8 YOE in tier 2/3 consulting jobs.
Always a top performer, but I’m assuming that will change at MBB......what are tips to get comfortable being an average performer and being okay with it? I’m not worried about the “ego” side of things, but I am worried bc my personality is to work hard until I’m a top performer and I am scared I might burn out doing that...

Est. End Date/Month for MBB/Tier 2 hiring spree?

Seems there's an exodus from T2 to T1 [MBB] now, especially given increased hiring rates at T1s. Is the shift driven from $$ and associated prestige? Doubt it's WLB improvements 🤔. Curious on perspectives.
