What’s the travel % and comp like at the consultant level at an MBB in Toronto? Dabbling with the idea of leaving banking to join an MBB for the MBA sponsorship

I have reached senior consultant at EY. Want to do a masters or PhD in science (physics or engineering) as this is what interests me. Would big 4 rehire at a higher level? Other prospects? Would there be a salary jump if I returned to consulting? How attractive would the senior consultant title and science PhD be to big consulting firms?

What’s the salary range for a Senior Consultant at EY in the PAS group? Roughly 4 YOE. Recruiter mentioned base should be around $120k but I’m hoping to negotiate.

What is typical day rate for an independent operations consultant? ~5-7 YoE, Western Europe, mostly working with (PE backed) SME industrials.

My sister is considering starting as an independent operations consultant, working with a few old partners of her current firm. She’d have 50-70% workload from those connections, and will seek additional work elsewhere (recruiters, etc).

Thinking of leaving current role (senior 1 consultant) to go back and earn a a comp sci undergrad at a top tier program. It’s always been my interest and getting a degree would mean FAANG opportunities are more accessible as they heavily recruit at said program. Also debating part time school. Thoughts? I have two offers in hand post-MBA:
1. EY-Parthenon OTS (M&A integration/strategy) as a MBA Consultant 170K base+bonus. My plan is to work there for 2 years and exit back into the Tech industry.
2. I have an offer from Amazon for a Product Management role with 30% higher pay

I am trying to understand which of the two sets me up for success in the tech industry. Long run I want to be able to do all kinds of roles from Strategic Planing, Strategic Partnerships, Product Management and such.

Looking for a new job- aiming for about 200k salary or so- one of the options is a firm where I’d be an independent consultant- how much would you ask for per hour? I can do the straight calculation after considering insurance, match, self employment tax etc... but given the additional uncertainty I’m not sure what to ask for.
