Just got an offer for an entry level position at a small engineering consulting firm in Chicago, but it is so hard to find data out there on this type of job, so does anybody know what an average salary would look like?

I just made the decision to leave a company that did not align with my values. I was honest with myself, the company, and their future best interests by giving until the new year to find a replacement person. I had a very big bonus on the line, but personally refused to accept people in authority publicly addressing and mocking a department as the 'Special Olympics' (with legit autism & insane skills), among other extremely sexist & inappropriate comments. Do they have a right to withhold bonus?

Agree or disagree: An Executive MBA is worth it for people partner level and above at large consulting firms; specifically, it is worth it from a compensation ROI and/or career velocity perspective.

Offer from EY for a promotion, but also am up for promotion with Deloitte and likely will get it, but not in effect until June ‘23 and can’t imagine comp bump will match current EY offer. What to do?

Why would anybody accept a management position for only a 5% raise? And their bonus is lower? My company is illogical.

I’m currently being considered for a job and received a call last week from HR to discuss the organization’s health/retirement benefits and what my salary expectations are. Still no official offer yet, but I was told that the process could take some time. Is the call from HR a good sign? I’m nervous about how long it’s taking for the organization to officially say whether they’d like to move forward with me or not.

How much do you guys spend on rent in NYC and what’s your respective total comp? I’m starting at an MBB making 192k a year and eyeing rent of 2.5-2.7k. I also have student loans of ~2k and want to save 2-3k a month. You all think this is a good target? Or should I flex higher/lower?

My old company was trying to be more profitable by hiring lower quality candidates for cheaper. The starting salary was 75k when I started 10 years ago, now it’s 65.

Am I making a mistake? I'm transitioning from a Tier 2 management consulting firm to P&G as finance manager. My problem was primarily one of work-life balance. I was working from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. and couldn't find any time to relax my mind. Wake up, work, eat, work, eat, and sleep. Every day is the same. Salary is slightly lower than Tier-2, but not significantly so. Do I like finance? Not much. Was I fond of consulting? Yes, please. However, not during these working hours..

Hi! Recieved an offer to join a firm with 25k salary bump. BUT long hours (40-50), min 3 days in office, and poor feedback from ex employees on this app. Currently im happy where im working and fully remote. Wasnt actively looking for a new job but approached by them via linkedin. Is there a certain point in your career where you hit a salary level that you are happy with and not interested in chasing money anymore? Let’s say once you hit 150K you are good as long as you have good WLB/team. I have a good salary starting off in consulting with good WLB/team(from what I heard) and am trying to not chase the $$ and make me unhappy.
