My manager sits me around the corner from four young ladies who always sit in a small conference room. I can hear everything they talk about. Usually it’s just bitching about boys, talking smack about other girls in the office, or just bickering about some other drama. Today they were all on their periods. I’d like to work from home pls.

Any recommendations on negotiating telework (remote work) for a federal position that’s provided an Firm Offer? I was informed by an agency officer that my request can be considered if an offer was given along with my request for higher salary.
What suggestions does anyone have on doing that?

A recruiter reached out about an opportunity with a PI firm from out of state that is expanding into my state. Position would be totally remote. It’s a good firm but I have reservations about not ever seeing any of the attorneys in person and only in-office attorneys being listed on this website. Are my reservations legitimate or should I look into this?

Hi friends. I’ve been a program manager for an online bar review course this past year. I will ask for a raise but it is rare that they will agree. So, I want to be offered another job to have the leverage to leave this current role if they don’t work with my needs and most likely I prefer to leave my job but just looking for a better opportunity first. The place I work at only has 12 employees. 6 of the employees are allowed to WFH full time. The other 6 have to come into the office 1-2 days a week depending on how long they've been on the job.

I feel this created two classes of employees.

There are no consistent criteria for who gets to WFH. Some live far away, some live close to the office, some have barely been with the organization, others have been here 10+ yrs. It doesn't make sense, and it feels like a power trip.

Any advice on getting into the fraud industry as a fraud analyst, forensic accountant, etc.? I have 12 YOE in accounting in various industries (healthcare, banking, & nonprofit). BBA in Accounting, MBA, Enrolled Agent (EA) & a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE). I currently own/operate a small accounting firm where I help businesses of various industries. I'm a junior and I'm only allowed one remote day per week, but frequently just don't go in an extra day. Usually it's after a long billing day, other times it's after late night firm events. No one has gotten onto me yet. Can I just keep doing this lol? It's really helping me survive. I bill good hours and have great reviews. Every week I'm like ok. This week is the week. But it never is. Most people are 3-2 anyways.

Does anyone here use the WeWork spaces? I work from home and it can get lonely. I used to work at those spaces at my last company and found it helpful to at least meet people. I asked my boss for a hot pass so I can come and go as I please so will see if he’s 100% cool with it. (I’m the only east coaster/New Yorker in my company) Was thinking about using the Chelsea spaces and it would be nice to meet other people & creatives.
