Need advice on side hustles and PT gigs. I work FT, my wife runs her own business PT while caring for our kids, and we are STILL living paycheck to paycheck. Combined we make over $80k/yr, but it's still tight. My wife is saying she can go back to work FT and shut down her biz, but a) I know this would make her unhappy, b) we want to prioritize our time with our kids before they start going to school, and c) we already pay for PT daycare and it's EXPENSIVE. FT is outrageous. Thoughts?

Hello... has anyone had a foreign parent company issue US employees the contract of employment of that jurisdiction (I'm my vase Ireland)... I've just started and no HR before me so they issued the wrong things. They're very clear Irish contracts of employment with reference to Irish legislation in them, but wondering how much of a mess this is? Only issued to 8 employees total.
Curious, is it common practice to advise managers *not* to remain in correspondence with a recently terminated employee? An employee was just fired *without* cause (headcount reduction) and has been trying to contact his former manager to stay in touch, etc. The manager has not responded to the employee yet.
Currently been at company for 2 months, turns out market fit and % of reps hitting quota is horrible (36%) so I started reaching out for better opportunities.
Should I keep looking and try to land something else or stick with it in hopes there’s a turnaround.?

Have been the company I work for appr 10 years. Was given a big increase 4 years ago (13k per year) and not given anything after that. Hve worked some weeks 6 days a week and have filled in when one of my staff resigned. Even worked the first 4 days after my brother passed away last year. I recently asked for am increase and my boss mentioned the increase from 4 years ago. They finally came back to me.with a small increase after all these years. Any advice on my next move?

I'm finding that the true test of whether or not you are at a good company lies in how project management and leadership can shield the negatives of this from their engineers.
No easier way to reduce morale than to aim the firehose and stressors of these changes onto engineering directly.
