A friend is trying to convince me to move to Vegas for a year and live in a 5k sqft home with them and 2 other best friends of mine. For context, I live in San Diego in a studio by myself.

I like this idea because in theory I could live a pretty luxurious lifestyle (in comparison to what I’m living now) I stand to make $12k more a year by just having an address in Nevada. Rent would be much cheaper too.

I ask because I’ve let my credit spending get a bit lax since moving and adopting a puppy recently, so I haven’t been paying them off in full every month like I used to (though still well above the minimum payment, and keeping utilization at 30% or under). It got me thinking about how many people adhere to this advice.

One of my best friends growing up just passed away. We lost contact with each other a year or two after graduating high school and I recently came to learn he was was battling cancer the past 5 years and ultimately succumbed to the illness. He hid it well from everyone and led a very private life during it all. To make matters worse, he had just turned 25. Seeing pictures of the condition he was in towards the end of his fight broke my heart. I wish I had known so I could’ve been there for him.
