Although Amazon has instituted a hiring freeze and layoffs are probably on their way, I went through the loop for a security engineer position at AWS. Before I attended the final interviews, Amazon placed the hiring freeze and called me to ask if I wanted to go ahead or cancel my application. I decided do go ahead Right now I'm waiting for their response and the position I applied to changed from "under consideration" to "no longer under consideration". Thoughts?
Name and shame the firms doing stealth lay-offs.
Hi Fishes,
Please don't ignore my post. Current company has done a massive firing i.e Home credit, I joined them recently and got fired with no logical reason. 70-80% workforce has been fired.
Please help me in getting jobs, if anyone has anything around Marketing, Digital, Engagement or in strategy, please reach out to me directly. I am available to join at the earliest. Please let me know, don't ignore sharks!

Strategy& fish - i’m currently recruiting for org strategy. Ive talked to associates (in the healthcare practice) and theyve mentioned that it doesnt matter whether youre in corp strategy, org strategy, etc and that you’re pretty much pooled by industry when it comes to staffing.
Can someone confirm this? Also, what do you expect the restructuring to look like?

Adjusting staff in consulting to business demand isn’t really “layoffs” unless you are arguing that every firm does layoffs annually.
This situation is definitely layoffs since it impacts non-consulting staff.
All good.
I do think “non consulting” is the bar in this case., it’s our marketing, communications, etc. teams being let go.
I don’t believe quiet layoffs are a real thing. Seems like some trendy name someone attached to a process that’s existed before social media amplified the voices of the uninformed.
The roster for S& is public for PWC employees. You can see who is gone each month. We hear “silent layoffs” on fishbowl 10x a year yet the roster is missing < 5 names lol.
Just so glad that I left PwC . Every moment at PwC was painful due to PPMD there. I was at deals and the day I put a resignation was the best day of my life.
I was in Deals too and got laid off, still it’s of the best day of my life. Too many worst human beings on the planet in my group. They said I underperformed my peers, and you know what all the experienced hire associate peers were laid off.
As someone part of the silent layoffs, the part about “first formal cuts since 2009” really doesn’t sit well with me
Rising Star
Happened to me a little over a year ago. Consistently good reviews in my first year that were also trending toward really good. Let go for “low performance” and no other explanation provided
Its not guts it's damage control
Someone leaked the news a d they tried to get ahead of it
BCG did this last year more than almost any other consulting firm I saw and is now hiring experienced hires to offset the mess they made. May be worth applying for anyone impacted, sorry and good luck! (I’m not there anymore so cannot refer).
the patterns that you see at all these “prestigious” firms is appalling. Same sh*t, different toilet
"But..but..pwc doesn't do layoffs"
PWC has a new leader. The new leader was elected partially because they do layoffs
Sorry to my former PwC colleagues who will be impacted. I’ve been in round tables and when times were tough we let go of many more folks through the guise of performance based exits. It was all forced and layoffs for all intensive purposes.
Intents & purposes D2 🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♀️🤦🤦
Sounds like McKinsey!
Never though I would see them cut the “we never do layoffs” bs in my life time
Sure gramps keep drinking the kool-aid and go rest up
Went through a similar experience last year in kpmg but I am glad I was let go. Such a fake and toxic environment it evolved into within just 4 years of my time there.
Global slow down, no signs of turning the corner yet after 2 years of this. 2025 doesn’t look any better. What’s the turn around strategy?
I got good news at work today too, expense ratios are in line with target, no more layoffs. We’re cash rich with 1.7B in the bank. Starting to hire again. Might be early signs. I’ll take it. Economic data is always lagging, which looks pretty grim for 2025.
What service line is this impacting? Hearing its product, technology, and advisory services but what exactly does that mean?
Just interviewed for a position at PwC and it seem to have gone well so curious on this, since everyone here is saying it’s a terrible place
