I’m new on the job search and still employed. I’m looking to grow further in the logistics industry. While I look for work, it’s a bit discouraging seeing how hundreds of people apply for positions I see on LinkedIn. I still apply because you never know and AI plays a huge effect in selections. Should I even bother applying when there are more than 100 applications?

SA at big4 making 126k in advisory. Offer from Cog to join at M with 155k and 10k sign on. Also interviewing with other firms where it’d be a lateral switch with ~170k base. Thoughts/guidance/opinion?

If you go for interview and you sort of know that the person interviewing you might be curious about something on your negative on your resume like why is there a gap or why were you in XX role for so long?

Do you address it pre-emptively? Or does that show insecurity and you leave the elephant in the room and wait till they ask you?

I guess this is more in the case of networking than interview like do you make your own story?

From interview perspective, I enjoyed lucidworks interview as the interviews taken by quality people compared to other two companies. But it is a startup.

I’ve applied to AE and AM positions at Amazon and Uber but I can never seem to get past the 1st interview. I am considering an offer for an AE role (UK-LDN) where the base is £42k & OTE is £70k. The Regional GM has verbally promised to move it up to £50k base if I perform well during the probationary period, but I can’t have it in writing on the contract. I’ve tried to counter offer but they said I’m currently maxing the salary band (L4). This role is exciting as I’d be the first UK employee, doing the full sales cycle & more but I had the same base and ote as an SDR. Is it too low? Do I take it?

During interviews, how do you talk about the “result” or “impact” of a consulting project you were on? I know how to talk about the problem/recommendation portion of a sample project but the result/impact, I mean, as consultants we don’t see recommendations executed and actually generating results.
