Why would you leave A&M for business school or at all? A&M is the exit opp! What do you want to do? 2 very different choices. If youre not convinced you want to do restructuring just go Kearney I'm sure you'll get broader opportunities to be generalist. Comp here at A&M is extremely transparent you can pretty much predict your bonus. If you're busy you'll get paid loads

Kearney is a T2 consulting firm that people to go after their MBA. A&M is a specialized consulting firm people go to after regular consulting experience.

Considering how many people have left Kearney for A&M in the last 12 months, I would probably pick Alvarez

like

Have worked at both: 1. Kearney - more widely recognized in the MBA community, Kearney will also pay for MBA while A&M will not 2. Career Progression - I found Kearney leveling moves very fast in comparison to A&M, but your experience may vary 3. A&M wins hands down in overall compensation, Kearney has better base pay but the bonuses at A&M can be crazy good. 4. Highly dependent on what area you are looking into, but Kearney has more general cache then A&M, but not for other areas

B-school is almost zero value add if you’re into restructuring. I’d point at timing being great to join A&M as they are going to have a very busy few years, and as has been pointed out pay good performers well. If you are in the U.K. you’re very well positioned as the firm is quite expansionist under Fleming and Firmin which might lead to more rapid promotion.

Both good options. But if your goal is business school, the generalist background you’ll get from Kearney may take you a little farther.

Senior up for promo to manager in audit in next year. Have decided I do not want to be an auditor. Which of these paths do you think is best? 1. Stay 1 more year, exit to industry with manager title. 2. Move to advisory internally, but most likely would have to do one more year in audit and move as audit manager to advisory sr 3. Exit immediately into industry to try for accounting manager title / senior accountant or sr fin analyst 4. Exit immediately to advisory senior at another big 4 firm

Hear me out. We’re living in the residual days of advertising power. Back in the day, if you worked in advertising, you very much shaped culture. Advertising creatives shared the airwaves with only the likes of Hollywood and national news. There were only so many pipes into culture and advertising was a big one. But today, the pipes are democratized. Random teens on TikTok are having more impact on culture than Mad Ave. And yet, so much ego and self importance remains.
