Any ex-BigLaw bankruptcy/restructuring attorneys on here? Curious about what the best exit options would be for someone with my experience.

Faced this weird behaviour from Optum recently. Gave interview for Data Scientist position. HR said feedback is positive. Asked for documents. It's been month now since I have shared the documents. I have no update on the offer. Today I called HR, she called me back saying the position is on hold due to recalibration in team, She has shared interview feedbacks to other teams and will get back to me in couple of days. I am clueless now. My last working day is approaching (In a month). Any Help??

I just got into reading books, any suggestions to start with? Which could help to increase media/marketing knowledge.

Hi All, I need some career guidance.

7+ YOE - 3 in tech support role (after BE) and 4+ in BA & PM role (after MBA). Worked on RPA and process improvement projects for 2 yrs. Currently working on internal tool implementation projects - PMO, UAT, change strategy, etc.

I want to switch to a product company in a PM/TPM role, and I am planning to learn something new which has a great future scope, pays well, and aligns with my profile. Any recommendation would really help me take a right call.

I’m looking for a new job, working remotely, that doesn’t require a Bachelor’s. (I’m currently going back to school to get one, as I only have an Associate’s in Mathematics right now)
I had positions in private sector that allowed me to supplement having a degree with experience but not in public sector. I’ve seen coworkers get positions they aren’t able to do simply because they have a degree and then leave a mess for me to clean up but I’m not allowed to have the position. Any suggestions?

Looking for honest opinions: would you trust career advice from someone who doesn’t necessarily have a background in career coaching but has always been “that friend” that everyone calls for career advice, resumes, salary negotiations etc?
I have a long background in management and have been very successful in climbing the ladder but I would love to start career coaching on the side. Any feedback is helpful!

I left in 2013 after five years in. I have since done everything from selling motorcycles, getting a food prep certificate, doing discovery work, starting a few companies, and getting married to a woman who knew better than to speak to the person I was in my big law days. Could not have made a better decision, but wouldn’t mind that paycheck for a few more months.

Working remotely for a tech co and still can't get over how much more time I get to spend with my kids. To be honest, this alone is worth so much more than money can buy. I left biglaw after 3 years to a mid-size firm. Took a pay cut but the hours, people, culture and work were so much better I never thought twice about the salary or “prestige.” Ultimately I started 2 very small firms. I am not rich by biglaw standards but I have a very comfortable life and put my kids through college with no debt. 35 years after leaving big law, people are still impressed when I say I started there. I feel like I still had the benefits of the connection w/o the suffering.

I left practice 12 years ago. I became the Director of International Programs at a law school, which was great for a while. But, the bureaucracy eventually got to me. While there, I started a podcast called The Lawyer’s Escape Pod, interviewing lawyers who’d switched careers. And that put me on my new path. I now coach lawyers who want to ditch the traditional work world and start creative or coaching businesses. Never been happier.
