I no longer have access to the Microsoft bowl due to the change in work email address, so I thought I'd see if any Microsoft management (former or current) are in here. I'm looking to confirm that when potentially coming back on at Microsoft, the hiring manager will be able to see my previous connects. I had a great experience at Microsoft, and would like to keep that door open in my mind, though my last connect has what I would call unfair characterizations due to a unique chain of events.

I’ve been working for a company for 25yrs, looking for advancement. I’m considered an SME, managing people, Vendors and working on large system conversions. Have provided long term goals. When requesting feedback I’m told I’m on the right path, no suggestions on what to improve. I asked about timelines for advancement and not being given anything concrete. Recently interviewed with another company as a Vendor Mgmt partner. Individual contributor, high visible position with potential. Thoughts?

I feel bad for the people who got into supply chain management and are burned out. I feel like they get the short end of the stick, and it truly is not a bad career at all, I think maybe some of them just aren't cut for it.

I have a job offer for 3 months that pays 25% more than my current job. It is more into civil engineering and I think the experience I get will help getting more job offers in the future. Hi Fishes, I've 2.25 Years of experience in SAP Basis, but I've lost interest in the same due to not receiving proper training, inability to practice on customer's system and shifts. I'm looking forward to go for MBA/changing technology, which one would be a better option? In case of the latter can you guys suggest lucrative technologies which has little/no coding and can definitely give good packages? Getting paid 85k base with 40k in bonus plus about 35k~ in OT.

Money isn’t everything but in my late 20s it feels like the only thing important right now.

WLB is next to zero as 60hr weeks are the minimum as of late. Management feels like they are trying to push a few of us out. Was told not to expect much come year end for comp. Any suggestions on finding a new role/pay expectations?

How does one most effectively make the transition into management from an Individual Contributor?

I've been an individual contributor for 4 years in Tech, have 8 years of experience total. I'm finding it difficult to make the management transition despite having management experience, performing beyond expectations, and having a genuine passion for enablement and development.

I'd appreciate any success stories or pointers you can offer in regards to this transition.

One of my direct reports has asked about going part time. They currently manage special reports in a bi-weekly publication, working closely with sales, freelance writers, and an internal designer. I’ve worked in sales for 12 years (8 years retail sales and management, 4 years inside tech sales and management). I’m feeling the burn and looking for something else in the tech field. I’m making $140k. I have a college degree but no marketing, engineering, or product experience. What other departments/jobs could I jump to and still keep close to my OTE? I'm starting to grow concerned that so many auditors don't seem to know the difference between the UAE and Palestine, which are entirely different countries. One of which has a large history of war with Israel. One does not. One just signed a peace agreement with Israel, but it wasn't the one stuck in a decades long war. I, like most people, fell into it and didn't realise it existed until I was working in it. Came upon through a personal connection I made while I was studying, started as data entry part time and voila, ended up coming back as a researcher.
