There’s no magic pill to “make you normal.” You need to modulate your behavior to work with your symptoms.
Thanks all—very much appreciated. Working with my doctor on it, just want to avoid a 2 year journey of finding the right fit if at all possible. Also dealing with depression and anxiety (the trifecta!) which makes it all a bit overwhelming.
Get you an excel file. Track EVERYTHING. When you take your dosage, how much water and caffeine and when, what/when you eat, and how you feel every 2ish hours. It makes experimenting vastly easier when you have some data to work with.
My best advice is to find a doctor you like and talk with them. I have a sorted journey on medications and finding the right one can be a lot. Sometimes it takes a while for me to get all the benefits, that would be a question to ask too. How long until I know whether this is really working or not.

There are so many alternatives. Vyvanse and Focalin, for example. Some people pair adderall with some non stimulant non-ADHD medicine like Wellbutrin (although I don’t recommend Wellbutrin because it made me hallucinate and paranoid for 3 days, though many say it works well for them and is a lifesaver)
I’ve been in a similar situation, where Adderall helped with some symptoms but didn’t fully tackle focus issues. Some people have had success with other medications like Vyvanse or non-stimulant options like Strattera, but I've never tried either. I think I'm nervous to try so many different meds. I have found more success with things like behavioral therapy, exercise, and meditation if I'm being honest.
Go to a new doctor and see if you’ve been misdiagnosed or have another condition too. Almost every person I know who has had meds not work has either had something else going on in addition to ADHD or not even had ADHD at all. The overlap in symptoms with autism, anxiety, depression, and other conditions sometimes causes a missed diagnosis or misdiagnosis. Super frustrating, I know.
As for other meds, I’ve heard Ritalin, focalin, and concentra etc., work well for some people over Adderall.
Good luck.
