I’m interviewing with Slalom emerge, I currently work for a supply planning product based company (Kinaxis) in implementation. The role that I am interviewing for , is going to be a non implementation role, where I will be acting as a trusted advisor between an implementation and an industry, redesign their existing process, help them find product which could solve their potential problems. I am wondering what will be exit opportunities for such roles. Is it a dead end career or is if something good that I’m just not exposed to yet. I don’t plan to stay in consulting forever, wanna move to an industry or product later in my career.

Sounds like an interesting role! I also think the big 4 would hire you with that back.

When should a stub start getting worried about not having much work and low billable hours?
I’ve asked for work but no luck. I know they say this is normal for a stub but when should I start getting worried and consider looking for exit options? Fyi, I like my practice group, so I don’t want to change to a different group within my firm, hence would have to lateral, if I have to. Also, other co-1st years are churning in high hours.

I’m a 9th year in a mostly litigation-based practice group at a one-tier partnership firm. My group’s billable hours have been low the last few years, so making partner will be nearly impossible, and a counsel position is not viable long-term in my group. What’s the best option here if partnership is the ultimate goal? Try to get a NEP/counsel position at another firm, which is likely difficult in my market, or offer to take a class cut by a few years?

I have gathered that aside from MBB, ACN pays their employees the most and pretty significantly more than big 4. Jumping 🚢 A$AP.

My last therapist keeps coming up in my mind. I left her when I moved to a new area before COVID dug in and frankly it felt like leaving a girlfriend. She also disclosed in the final session that she was a member of AA and knew several of the people I occasionally discussed from the rooms. Her knowledge of the program certainly built trust with me early on, but it has been two years. I discussed it with my current therapist but she’s still in there. Any advice?
