Need some advice here. I am a fullstack developer with 5 yoe in Angular and Python. My aim is to crack FAANG companies. Now I got an offer from HSBC in a credit risk model monitoring role using Python. It is close to a data engineer role.
My question is that will it be a good idea to shift from development role to a model monitoring role if I want to move to FAANG in the future?Or does FAANG not prefer people who are not in core development roles?Amazon Microsoft Google Adobe PwC EY Citi Barclays JPMorgan Chase

I have received offer from Shell and SAP labs is in final stage salary discussion. Shell is offering 6 lacs more than @SAP labs. I have tried to negotiate a lot from SAP but they are not ready. They are putting conditions like give your full commitment to join then only we'll release offer letter. I am currently looking for work life balance with growth. Should I join @SAP considering its a Product based and good WLB and learning? Teck Stack - Java/Micro-services/cloud YOE - 11yrs

I’m at an EC/VC focused biglaw firm in the Silicon Valley and I’ve worked across from Egan a handful of times on VC financings. I was impressed with their work and the lawyers know their stuff. I wouldn’t put too much stock into the fact that they’re not on Vault, etc. because they’re a boutique. I thought about making the switch to Egan, but they’re not hiring in CA so I’m looking into SLS instead. It seems like a great firm if you want to focus on EC/VC work!
I made the jump! It’s been completely worth it. I have no regrets leaving biglaw. I’m in the EC/VC group and there’s plenty of hours if you want them, so hitting the projected comp is easy. There are also very few write offs. Overall, the deal work is great, the clients are top notch, the hours expectations are much more sane and people actually respect your nights and weekends. Feel free to reach out directly if you want to chat more.
Still at Egan Nelson? Considering a jump. My biggest hesitation is that the Texas offices all kind of seem like boys clubs. Also worried that a smaller firm in Texas with mostly older white guys is going to gave a conservative culture that I don't know if I'm okay with.
I can’t find that firm on vault, above the law, chambers & partners or any website other than its own. Edit: only really recognized in Dallas on best law firms….
