Anyone else starting to resent how lax some people are taking social distancing? I’m in NJ and still going hard (for the most part)...are you jealous of people seeing friends? I am... are we fighting

I resent how much people want to keep our country closed still. Time to get out.

P1 gets it. We don’t WANT to stay inside, but we do want to protect ourselves and each other. It’s just considerate. If you have your health and your job, this lockdown is boring but it’s literally the easiest and best way to do your part

Yep, people are out and about in NYC and I’m still 🙅🏼‍♀️ and it sucks

I think there is a scale. Like if you have a good friend who is being as diligent as you and therefore the likelihood of them being infected is low, why can’t you hang out together? I appreciate the risks that this virus poses, but locking yourself up and keeping yourself away from others could be even riskier for you if you are currently healthy. Conversely, those people you are cutting yourself off from may not be handling the isolation nearly as well as you and a walk outside or whatever could do them a world of good.

@KPMG more like I’m feeling guilty about seeing my friend and was thinking of cancelling lol

Virus isn’t going anywhere. If you want to stay home for 18+ months suit yourself. You can go out but just take proper precautions, wear a mask and socially distance meeting with others. I’ve met up with friends and family outside in a park/backyard.

The lockdown phase should ideally evolve into managed risk. Avoid large crowds. Maintain distancing. See people who are also keeping exposure low.

Also in NJ. I've been keeping to myself but this weekend I'm having 1 friend over in my backyard. We're both following rules and itll be good to see someone outside my family.

I’ve been playing tennis with my friends... good thing about it is that you can maintain your social distancing. Apart from that I have been pretty strict with the social distancing and masks when going out.

In NYC, and also continuing the lockdown even though some friends are trying to organize events. I think they’re wrong. The virus isn’t gone just because you’re bored of quarantine

I agree on a lot of your points and appreciate the candid responses.

Isn’t there a bit of a catch 22 on the herd immunity aspect? I think this is the most expected outcome eventually, but the lockdown mindset seems to be the opposite of this. I think everything needs to be controlled and carefully considered, but to get to herd immunity a lot of people will get it eventually.
