They go through phases. Or she’s just around more. I’ve been through both. Switched to more local work and now our relationship has changed.

It’s like a competition for mommy between both of them - only when my wife is out I can have a regular time with them - super annoying for my wife and myself - agree with the phases hope it passes soon

Honestly them preferring mommy makes me feel less bad when I’m not around. But it’s an excuse for me to be fully present when around. Then again, this morning I went out for an hour on my bike and my 3 year old freaked out

You've got to find your niche with them and develop it. My kids always wanted mom for comfort but I was. "fun dad" and took care of injuries.

I played more and more aggressive games with them and was the go to for bigger boo boos. It gave me a role for them.

I also wasnt in consulting when they were really little so I took my share of changing diapers, feeding, and babysitting during their first couple of years so they were pretty attached. Might not have worked out if I had been traveling M-Th when they were<2.

They definitely go through phases. Early on, my daughter wanted nothing to do with me, which made me feel like I was a horrible dad and husband (who couldn’t give my wife a break). Then she went through a stretch where she only wanted me, and then back to the mommy phase.

Now she still gets picky about who she wants, but she alternates.

Age is a big factor. My 12 year old and I are super close now. But I was definitely second chair before. It changed about a year ago.

My toddler is definitely mommy mommy mommy when it comes to bed, and naps, but a anything in between it is all Daddy let's play. I like getting the play side of things, but it would be nice to huggle up for a nap sometimes

I’m going to be a dad! But I have some questions. When should I tell my manager/teams? I’m up for senior promotion this year, will this impact that promotion? For those of you that work in public what tips do you have for managing your work and family responsibilities? For context, my wife, once she’s done with maternity leave, will only work 25-30 hours a week. I know working in public and having a new born is probably going to be a lot to juggle, but I have to make it work.

Just found out that my favorite aunt, who claimed I was her “favorite” niece, chose to leave all her valuables to her other two nieces who never visited or called her once in the last ten years. My aunt passed away suffering from cancer last year and didn’t have her own kids. I was there by her side throughout her battle. I still wish I had done more, made her life easier. I probably sound petty, but a part of me is forcing me to re-evaluate every interaction I ever had with her.

My two young toddlers are home from daycare for the next 1.5 weeks for the holidays, and I have off work to watch them. Anyone have situational depression? Can’t stop beating myself up over a decision a year ago. Basically missed out on a massive amount of money. I know this seems trite and i never even cared thatt much about money before this year.

So many other good things happened to me this year - got married, got a puppy, moved etc, and yet the one thing i keep returning to is this decision as though i ruined my life. Ironically the only thing ruining my life is my outlook and yet i just can’t stop.

Question about inclusion…. I’ve been teaching inclusion for 5 years so I’m still a newb, but a first year coworker of mine said she got points off on her observation because her kids were scattered in the classroom and she was having to move from kid to kid to assist. While I see the point of putting them together for convenience, I don’t agree with this at all! To me this is like singling them out by putting them all together instead of INCLUDED amongst peers. What do y’all think?

I literally cannot stomach to be around my in laws any longer. Hi Fishes,

I am a QA engineer in an edutech company. I have an experience of 7.5 years (manual testing- database, front end, mobile and api testing).

I want to move to a BA role. I have good communication skills and an analytical mind. Below are 3 of my biggest questions.

1. Is it too late to switch to a BA role?
2. What are the skills, tools or certifications required?
3. How should I approach a job opening, given that I have no work experience as a BA.

Pls do pitch in your thoughts

So recently my SO has been accusing me of being in control of when we are intimate (sex and cuddling). She says that every time she wants to I say no - and whenever I want to - she says yes. So it's by default doing whatever I want when I want. It's a gross exaggeration of what's happening - but does anyone ever deal with something like this? How do you say no to something like that - without your partner thinking you're just looking out for yourself or you're controlling?

Offer 1 - staff revenue accountant so reading contracts, speaking with the sales team and legal team, a lot of work at the end of the months to close books and reconcile transactions to make sure we are ASC 606 compliant.
