Any books suggestions?
Hello All,
I have recently joined FIS Global around end of April. My mother recently met with an accident and she needs to be operated.
I haven't been able to update the anything regarding the insurance part yet on FIS portal.
Will my mother's treatment be covered under the insurance? If yes, what's the procedure for the same? What are the documents that I need to submit in order to claim the amount?
Can anyone please guide?

Have you spoken with your doctor about this? Highly recommend having a chat about the symptoms. However, it is very possible that your body might process cooked spinach better/more easily than its raw form - higher potassium when cooked too. Have you tried other leafy greens?
Experiencing digestive issues again on a smaller scale. Is it possible that I just cannot tolerate any kind of vegetables no matter what the amount is? I mainly need the spinach for the potassium intake
Possible negative effects from the fiber, or plant’s defense mechanisms (e.g., oxalates)
Amber O’Hearn, Georgia Ede, and Shawn Baker would be good resources to start with
I've been plant-free since 2015 and my digestion has never been better. I gave up electrolytes and other supplements at the same time I gave up plants. I woke up with leg cramps and eye twitches occasionally for the first few months. I kept some lite salt handy for the times when it was unbearable, but most of the time I could ignore it. After several months it stopped happening. I figure my kidneys got better at retaining electrolytes. My blood work now shows no deficiencies and I feel better than ever.
I also stopped drinking excessive water, after which my headaches stopped.
You could just take potassium supplements and eliminate vegetables
Before supplementing potassium, make sure you're not on any medications that could interact with it, and talk to a doctor first if you have any heart issues at all.
I get where you’re coming from, but honestly, you are over-analyzing this. It’s not like humans sat around a campfire with a tablet calculating their intake of potassium, vitamin B12, etc.
Just eat real foods, listen to what your body is craving, and avoid grains, sugar, and vegetable oils. Add some potassium salt to protein shakes or foods if you want, and take an iron-free multivitamin for insurance.
Sorry if this comes across a bit harsh...
Yea I would say try intuitive eating. Listen to what your body is craving and give it that, no matter how strange. You’ll figure out what works for you.
I spoke with my doctor about the blowup but she basically just said that vegetables bloat and I just need to experiment with what works. I have tried cooked vegetables, raw vegetables, eating vegetables on planet mars, pretty much everything and everything hurts. Aside from just illuminating vegetables I’m not sure what else to do but then I don’t want potassium to drop. I’m still in my experimentation stage but just kind of at a loss for what to do I guess
Try gas pills.
Please excuse the errors I am using talk to text and some words are wrong. But hopefully you can get the jist lol
Only issue with this is that the recommended daily allowance for potassium is 4700 mg and when you calculate how many pills that is I’m looking at approximately 20 pills a day. So I cannot realistically take 20 pounds of potassium right?
Red meat has a ton of potassium.
If you are having this much of an issue with vegetables, I think you need to stop trying to force them into your diet. Plants are difficult to digest, with the fiber and toxins/anti-nutrients that they produce as protection
I’ve been doing a lot of reading on it and it sounds like I might just have to cut it out altogether since I cannot digest. Since I have reduced the amount that I am taking in the severity is not as bad but I still have digestive distress. I’m thinking about going zero carb or carnivore or something similar that my body can handle
Try some less fibrous veggies, cooked. And small portions of them throughout the day. Out of curiousity, what is the digestive issue? I used to get really bad gloating and gas with broccoli but continued to eat it and body got used to it
I have literally tried everything and I am kind of at a point where I think I just can’t eat it anymore. But the stress is bloat and gas manly and the overall and ability to digest it. My concern is not being able to get the potassium in but I think I found a way to get it in without the vegetables that will hurt me (NuSalt)
Just listen to your body. You don’t need to track to the RDAs
The evidence behind them is extremely low and also do not take into account how dietary, lifestyle, physical, and genetic factors affect requirements.
For example, if you do not eat carbohydrates, and also eat red meat (which contains the collagen components Vitamin C is used as a cofactor to produce—hydroxyproline and hydroxylysine), your requirements for vitamin C are negligible
Finally, I believe many of the RDAs were established simply by surveying what people ate and backing into the average nutrient consumption—not exactly based in what requirements are
Interesting I did not know that. I have always followed RDAs. I just don’t want to be deficient in something in having those types of problems. My goal is to have the 4700 mg potassium go at a minimum. Somewhere today I read that I can go as high as 6000 I need to read more about it but I know I need to be careful with the levels
