Anyone here take the SHRM? Im looking to gain more certificates and knowledge to further my career within HR/Recruiting and become more of a subject matter expert.

I have been working with a company for about 6 years as a Recruiter but I don’t feel I’m gaining the best recruiting experience due to so many limitations our company has. I’ve had to teach myself Boolean searching to be more active in recruiting. I have not had the luxury of someone to truly mentor me into a Recruiter so I’m trying to find any way I can learn and be more employable. Any advice? I’ve obtained my SHRM-CP, CIR and am in the process of a the PRC. What else can I utilize or do? Thx!

Hoping to get my PHR in the next year or so. Outside of employer reimbursement, are there other opportunities for this to get funded? I know SHRM Foundation offers scholarships for the CP, but I am looking for PHR specific help. Thank you! :)

So, a recruiter gave me feedback that my lack SPHR or SHRM-SCP is causing my resume to be knock out by AI and human recruiters despite my position and work history in Multinationals and being in Technology. They suggested that we put SPHR ( Lapsed). I let it lapse in 2017. What is your opinion? Plus if I were to take another certification - should I take SPHR or SHRM-SCP?

Hello! I am in Charlotte and I am working for an Engineering Consulting company based out of Maryland. I am working on getting my SHRM certification in January. Right now I am making $65k (my last position was payroll specialist, and I just moved into the HR side of things this last month). Should I expect a pay raise in January after getting certified? Hi all! For an experienced hire as a Human Capital Consultant at Deloitte, what should I expect the salary/sign-on bonus to be at a MCOL city? I have approx. 3.5 YOE (non-consulting), MBA and MS degree (non target school) and also SHRM certified (which is probably irrelevant for the role but thought I’d share anyways). Our company usually does performance evaluations in June of each year. Our pay philosophy is not clear. We usually give a COLA in January each year, somewhere around 2% and if an employee performed well, they get above the 2%. I have suggested we change our process to have a clear pay philosophy with increases tied to performance, with goals tied to overall goals of the organization. What is your process? Has worked for big companies like McCormick, Frito Lays, Hersheys, Pepsico. It is not my industry so I don’t know… but it sounds very low. Thoughts?
