Used to take trazodone and found it very helpful with minimal side effects
I am. I actually only took it on an as-needed basis. So some weeks it was every night, but most weeks it was less. Eventually I stopped, after 8 months or so. But that was also function of addressing other things in my life - reduced stress, therapy, etc.
Yes, ask you psychiatrist for trazadone. It helps put you and keep you asleep.
This is so comforting, my psychiatrist just prescribed this yesterday. I also take magnesium and it helps with the quality of sleep but not with falling asleep. Excited to give the trazodone a try now.
Magnesium
I take ambien but apparently should look into trazadone. Valarian root helps too.
I have a similar issue. I try to take magnesium (I use natural calm) about 20 minutes before I plan to head to bed. If I have a really difficult time, my doctor prescribed hydroxyzine, which is basically a heavy duty Benadryl. Some people respond well to melatonin. The only thing that I do use consistently is magnesium, because I have a fear that I will become dependent on any other sleeping pill.
I get high and take melatonin.
Yeah, that is definitely a thing lol thankfully I only get munchies on days I do not take Vyvanse or Adderall.
I know exactly what you mean OP. How late in the day are you taking your adderall? I have noticed when I take my second dose too late in the day I stay up all night tossing and turning. I have to make sure to take both doeses early on in the day.
I take 25mg no later than 9:30 each day but I’ve taken it as early as 7 and still find myself unable to sleep. I started taking trazadone and it’s been amazing. No grogginess and I fall asleep within 30min of taking it.
Returning with an update: the trazadone really helps. I was prescribed 50mg but told only to take half and that does the trick. I fall asleep without issue and don’t wake up groggy. I only take it 1-2x a week when I can’t afford to be up super later.
