A well kept beard actually could make you be perceived as older and more experienced. If you’re worried about bias against age / inexperience

Yes they are acceptable as long as it’s taken care of. Don’t recommend having a wizard beard that just hands down and isn’t trimmed.
Why risk it? I always shave before interviews and big meetings. I just don’t see the point of being unshaven and potentially risking people’s unconscious biases

OP, that’s also a valid point.
This is really a land mine. Realistically, a well trimmed beard is fine. But used to work with an old school partner that HATED beards and discouraged them at every opportunity. If you weren’t well shaven, he wasn’t taking you with him in meetings to meet clients. It was dumb but that’s how the dinosaur thought.

Beards are hideous to some people. Leave it out.
Keep the beard, make sure it’s neat and clean and trimmed, anyone that’s got a problem with it is not someone you want to be working for
Make sure there is no food on it
Give it a good trim
