Hey guys. I have been applying to Amex for the past 1 year. Tried applying on the portal, through referrals and even hr consultants reached me regarding the roles since I have a relevant profile. But not once have I been shortlisted or called for an interview. What could be the problem?
PS: I have gotten calls from every other company for the same profile but not amex. Can't be a problem with the profile. Seems something dicey which I'm not aware of.American Express
EY
I got an interview for Contract - Audit Manager (Remote) role for EY. Are the interviews done remotely or does EY require interviewees to come into the office for interviews?
Just trying to manage my plan as I am currently traveling and the interview came up as an unexpected opportunity.
Thank you!
Not about Amazon but maybe someone has the answer I’m looking for :) At Meta if you interview for a contract role and get rejected does the 6 month cool off period still apply to you when apply to new jobs? Similarly, if you are employed by a staffing agency at Meta are you barred from interviewing for other roles there? Facebook (Meta)

You’re lucky if they read your full resume.
Facts. Most people reviewing your resume are junior and looking for buzzwords. Like they are looking for the big 4 and if your resume doesn’t say “big 4” they don’t realize you work at one of them.
I only provide a cover letter if it is required. I have a few paragraphs taht summarize the key parts of my resume, more detail on professional awards and honors, and a paragraph highlighting key skills I have developed in my career. I tend to think hiring managers use these letters to evaluate an applicant's language skills, organizational abilities and creativity.
Thing of the past.
I think it depends on who the hiring manager is. My boyfriend (27) is in charge of a lot of hiring for his university and never even looks at an applicant's cover letter; however, a family friend (62) in the same position puts a huge emphasis on cover letters and that's what she specifically looks out for. Definitely a generational thing in my opinion.
If the application has a cover letter option, I always add it. You can highlight some other things not in your resume and add more to things that are. I would think that every bit helps in todays ultra-competitive market
I’ve seen some inadvertently mentioning another organization and spelling mistakes. That made my decision to pass on the candidate much easier. Of the rare customized ones I’ve seen, it gave a little edge as I was able to assess a candidate’s business writing skills. Bottom line: unless it’s customized and you mean it, include it. If going the generic route, skip it.
I expect that anyone I hire will have native speaker, university graduate command of standard English writing. My staff writes a lot of nontechnical but detailed communication to everyone in our organization, and a cover letter gives me a good example of their writing skills.
A letter polluted by grammatical errors and easily avoidable typos will send the writer to the bottom of my list.
The first sentence sounds snobby and borderline racist
It all depends on who is reviewing it. I didn’t think it was important but I did a resume rewrite from kantan hq and they created a cover letter for me saying I should always have one. I got more call backs after.
I started adding a link before the “Dear Hiring Manager” that says (Click Me to view Video Cover Letter) and include a quick video summary for aesthetics and uniqueness. I would imagine the hiring staff would look at whatever information is being sent by candidates or I wouldn’t want to work for them if they are too lazy to not look at everything.
Is the video thing working for you?
Honestly I HATE that so many ATS require a cover letter. As others have said, I think it usually only provided another opportunity to remove you as a candidate, but rarely provides an opportunity to secure the interview. It's just another hurdle they're putting in place.
Hi! You can make a first good impression using an AI tool to write your cover letter. Just make sure you double-check everything before sending! This one's good! https://coverlet.app/auth/login
