CAIA vs CFA?

I'm Sarthak Misal, Currently a student who's about to finish his degree in Business Administration with Specialization in Finance.
Previously I've worked as a Partnership Associate and I've also got little experience in CRM, Business Development, Monitoring Industry Trends, Project management, Operations management.

I never did it. 24 years in. Another 4 or so to go.
I did my CRPC (Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor) about 8 -10 years ago.
I rarely if ever have people ask about the CFP. I have my key associate who has that designation.
It hasn’t hurt me at all. I will gross 1.65 mil this year which is a 10% increase over last year.
My AUM is growing. I get a lot of referrals. My clients seem to be happy and so am I.
I agree with the post before mine. It won’t make or break you. Client service or lack thereof will make or break you.
I am relentless in client service. I communicate with my clients in a very direct way. I am there for them in all ways I can be. Many times having nothing to do with their portfolios.
My staff takes ownership of their roles and they believe as I do—that really knowing our clients is the best path to success.
You can hire an analytical back office person. This is a relationship business first and foremost.
I always recommend to look at it from the perspective of where you are at in your business. It certainly can’t hurt. But it’s not going to make or break you having it either. If you can study for it while still growing your business then it’s probably fine. But If it’s going to severely hinder your growth then I’d usually advise against it. I didn’t start mine until I had 60mm AUM.
It’s a lot of work but I think it’s been very helpful as well.
I recently got mine at about 9 years in. Has not made any noticable difference besides a better knowledge base on things like taxes, business planning, estate, etc.
I could argue I closed one bigger deal this year because of some estate planning issues I brought up, but you don't need the marks to expand your knowledge.
The key to remember is that people don’t care how much you know until they know how much you care.
If you are attentive and take an interest in making people’s lives better they won’t care about the letters at the end of your name.
On the other hand, the designation opens the door for you to show more people how much you care.
