Yes, awful. Meditation and the gym have helped. This is going to sound ridiculous but I really exaggerate my breathing to empty my lungs and mentally just tell myself to.go ahead and have the stroke, heart attack, brain aneurysm, etc. Whatever is in my brain at the time and basically call BS on it.
I carry meds on me to help me feel like I'm in control if I need them and rarely ever take them.
Understanding of your triggers will help. Some you may need to manage by running towards them.
I'm just sharing my personal battle here. I'm not a medical professional. All the best.
Try to figure out what triggers them and avoid that. I.e if it’s work related because you have too much to do and don’t know where to start look for strategies to help you prioritize and get comfortable saying no so you can avoid that panic trigger. That has helped me a lot with work induced panic.
It helps me a lot to consciously recognize that it’s a panic attack and any physical symptoms I’m having are just a response to the panic. I used to spiral into thinking I was having a heart attack or dying somehow but knowing that it’ll go away when I get my breathing under control helps take some of the power away. I get over them much faster when I remind myself that I’m ultimately still in control.
Ive found that my diet can play a role in my mental health. I know when I’ve been eating or drinking too much of the wrong things bc my anxiety surfaces hard.
