I can make a list of dozens of reasons why Big 4 is a great platform and provides fantastic career opportinity.

I can make a separate list of dozens of reasons why a mid tier is a great platform and provides fantastic career opportunity.

Similarly, I can list reasons why both present challenges.

I have been a partner in both.

The reality is that one is not better than the other. They are both great. They are simply different.

The answer as to which is a better opportunity and environment will be different for each individual. Everyone has different goals and desires and each person should choose a firm that is best outfitted to match their personal goals.

There is no right choice or wrong choice, good choice or bad choice in general. The answer will be different for each person.

If a person chooses wisely, they can have an amazing rewarding and lucrative career anywhere.

I was a a top 20 before PwC. At my previous firm I had to travel out of town way way more, and I kept an eye on the exit ops of seniors and above. Didn’t love it so made the change, like what I’m seeing more now as far as that goes. Hours are a little more but I’m also working in industries I prefer rather than one I found boring

Hi,
I'm looking to get in one of the big 4's. Currently employed with Bank of America with 2 YOE in Claim(fraud) and Wealth Management operations. I've tried applying through the career sites, but to no avail. Any referrals or guidance of any kind would be much appreciated.
Thankyou

Is it possible to land a financial analyst position with only 6 months of experience in audit? I tried to stick it out w/ B4 but I don’t think I can do it anymore. I’m interested in duties like budgeting/forecasting, but haven’t come across very many entry level positions. I’m mostly seeing entry level jobs that are called “financial analyst” but include duties like JE/reconciliations. I don’t have SQL/Tableau experience either... so not sure if I just need more experience in a diff role first?

Hi Everyone - I was hoping someone could throw some light on the kind of work trust and safety does. Or is it more engineering?

Lots of talk about CohnReznick on here lately… let’s address a few points.

1) Yes, our salaries are in line with B4. Happy to discuss specifics with the skeptics.
2) We are one of the few firms still actively hiring people without FDD experience.
3) Our WLB is miles better than B4.
4) Yes, we are paying strong referral bonuses because our practice has literally doubled in the past year.
5) All of the above is due to a strong pipeline and significant growth within the practice.

I have got 6 years of experience and I have done MBA in finance. My last company was a Big 4. They are ready to pay me 9L and I require a 100% increment. will they give me 12 L? Should I accept 9 L?

Discussion post: I feel almost all consulting firms are the same. Mbb, big 4 etc. if you are paid enough there is probably less wlb. If there is good wlb there is not much money. Can you single out a company that you can confidently say pays very well and also has good wlb and also has good opportunities etc.?

I currently do planning system implementation at SC level. Quite technical stuff and less PMO. What are my future career possibilities from here onwards? Can I keep progressing in the standard ladder and keep doing implementations, or is it automatically going to end up becoming more are more sales oriented and less actual implementation work? Especially interested in the SM level and above. I’d prefer staying at Big 4 and avoid the supplier side.

Let me tell you, I love the flexibility at my firm, OK pay, and I do a great job, and am comfortable pushing back when I have too much work . BUT managers are terrible at planning and recently end up putting me in preventable situations where I need to work 55 hrs or have the staff work the 55 hours. I literally cannot since I have a family and my daughter is only in day care a few hours a day, I'm already doing my max work. Is it crazy that I may want to leave Bc I hate making ppl miserable?

I did and it's killing me because now I'm working till 2 am, but its not showing on paper. I o ly show 8 or 9 hours.
