Not necessarily a true comparison, but I can say that when I last had a full time job I was getting $60k a year as a mid level producer with 6 years experience. And after getting laid off, I started freelancing where I was getting $100 an hour. The company i freelanced at kept me on for a full year and I got over triple the salary I would have made had I not been laid off at the first company. I made around $190k that year.
It drastically changed my life for the better, and freelancing still does.
General rule for me is 30% more every time I get a new job.
45k from 60 to 105. Did I lie about my salary to the company I was interviewing with? Yes, yes I did.
Damn, seeing these posts makes me less excited about +20% I just got when switching jobs.
50% by changing industries.
50% again by changing companies.
50% again by going freelance.
With some ups and downs in between.
30k salary bump twice so far. In the game less than 5 years. Only recently started to make 6 figures. Am 32. Feels good. But curious to hear from other producers.
more than doubled my salary when i switched companies and took a promotion. a salary increase freeze and the pandemic happened in between the company switch so both of these contributed to the doubling of salary.
Wow congrats!
20-30% is highest I’ve gotten. But just got 20% from an already decent salary, so I’m satisfied with that.
