Just got this message from my manager - “For the summer, in addition to the days off you have requested, can you let me know which weekends you are NOT available (even if you don’t need to take any PTO). This will allow me to manage weekend projects. Please just drop me a note and let me know which weekends.” Does anyone else find this sort of insane? There’s something insidious to the suggestion that if I don’t have plans on a specific weekend than I’m just up for grabs for them. Is this fair?
What are your top red flags to decline a job offer?
What’s the most amount of PTO you’ve requested for a single trip? Trying to see how crazy I can go with this backpacking trip I’m planning EOY.
How much did you bill in April?
I've been planning a vacation for my 5 year wedding anniversary and recently floated the dates I was looking to take off to my Principal and he responded that he's never seen anyone take 2 weeks unless it was for a wedding/honeymoon. Regardless, if thats true, given that precovid, he (who was a VP at the time) and my MD (who was a principal at the time) used to take 2 weeks every summer, is a 2 week vacation excessive in the PE space? I've been here 5 years and feel like I've earned it.
How much per head is a good contribution towards Holiday Fund for this year for a downtown high rise condo building with very few rentals? The entire building staff showed up all year in the pandemic; really grateful and want to acknowledge. Looking for suggestions.
Question for folks in here who work at a company with unlimited PTO/vacation - how do you manage this from being abused by employees?
What happened today? Friday before Holiday. But, deeper than that, there was an amazing bouce-back bid in the Russell 2000, it outperformed the big indexes, nearly doubling the the S&P, Nasdaq, Dow.
Driving teenagers on vacation around today meant hearing variations of “Ew, Facebook is for old people” at least half a dozen times, unprovoked.
Dating an older man (he’s mid 40s, I’m mid 20s). We are pretty serious so we are having open conversations about money and whatnot. We just split the cost of a trip 50/50, which was a bit of a push for me but I did it anyways. When talking about future trips, I mentioned that I cannot always split the cost down the middle because I can’t afford as much as he can. I make 100k, he makes ~900k. He retorted that he has so many more expenses than me (which is true... mortgages, etc.) but that (cont.)
Isn’t it great having a Holiday smack dab in the middle of the week?! Seems a lot of people are calling in “sick” today. How empty is your office today?
What's your firm's time entry policy? Recently was told we had to release our time daily or we could lose our PTO. Before this we had to release it once a week. Anyone else have such a policy?
I haven’t had anything resembling a vacation since 2017, so I booked one for August. Today, I received notice that a trail is scheduled to begin two days after I return. Why? Why God why?
Tired: your agency giving you some time off to go vote on Election Day. Wired: Your agency giving you the day off to volunteer to Get Out The Vote because you voted early, duh.
I said out loud just now "I want to die" after having literally one of the worst weeks I've had in a long time. (And to anyone saying I'm overreacting, thanks. I am rationally aware that it will be okay, but I am quite emotional at the moment) I started a new project this week after coming back from vacation and also thrown onto an RFP response. Been working day and night doing the RFP as I am currently shadowing on the project. However the AP I am shadowing is also on the RFP. (Cnt. To comment)
My Accenture folks, my project just wrapped up I have been chargeable since. Now for next Monday and Tuesday I don’t want to take pto but rather knock out my TQ and other trainings. Is that possible?
Oh no, it looks like a really scandalous confessions thread got unsurprisingly taken down! Well, I have this mini ballad to share in rememberable of a great holiday scandal thread: Oh kpmg girl, is it the look in your eyes or my **** in your mouth, who cares baby, I think I want to marry you
Where is a new build???

Tips on how to sleep on a plane, especially in coach? I feel like I have it down to a fine art (eye mask, neck pillow, Ambien, scarf as a blanket) but keen to hear everyone else's tips 💤💤💤
Note of caution. Monday morning travel doesn't mix well with a client site team who are all morning people. I'm on my third cup of coffee and I still can't catch up with these people.
