Droga has been on a downward spiral long before the sexual harassment scandal. The good work is few and far between and lost in the dreck of sprint and Pizza Hut and chase and other big accounts. They’ve been on the mcgarry Bowen trajectory for awhile now, just 3-4 years behind
DMA is not to be taken seriously for accurate information. They spin everything to their own narrative. (Like the HR thing. They SOOO want to be change agents.)
CD6 - over 20 complaints were filed against him. This isn’t a soap opera where you get to hear the sordid details of each victim’s private, damaging experience. If you’re in the mood to feel sorry for someone, feel sorry for the people who were harassed by Ted or the people who were forced out of droga because Ted had a vendetta against them. There’s how you feel, and there are facts, and you need to be able to differentiate between the two.
Crazy. One would think they’re already saving a lot of money by not having a cco
Without DMA Ted Royer would still be sexually harassing every young lady at Droga, like he was for the decade before DMA. I, for one, am glad they stepped up, whatever their methods
Jesus Christ. Droga loved ted, he told his whole department that after the fact. They wouldn’t have fired him because of some unsubstantiated gossip. It would have gotten to a point where they would know it was super bad to keep him on. Like, bad bad. Do you really think he would have just fired him on a whim because an Instagram account was saying bad stuff about him? Like it’s the first time Droga has had to deal with industry gossip? Don’t be so naive.
DMA: When you want to be the guiding moral light for an entire industry but end up becoming just another bottom-feeding gossip channel.
Clients loved Ted. So did most creatives at the agency. Nobody seems to have any details of stuff he did or didn't do and until they do, I feel nothing but sorry for him.
Could also be that clients wanted Ted?
CD1 - reported internally at the agency. It’s public information. adage called out this number. It wasn’t all sexual harassment, but other kinds of harassment as well.
CD6 are you afraid you’ll be next on the DMA list?
I wonder if this means Ted Royer fallout is real (ie, the rumors I’ve heard of clients upset over all the sexual harassment stuff)
According to DMA:
-lost Tencent and Mattress Firm.
-40 ppl being cut
-Majority of HR being cut (mostly the ones who stood up to leadership)
But idk 🤷♂️
Yikes...two huge agencies in one week. Ogilvy now Droga
Wonder how this will affect the freelance market. There’s ton of work around but not sure if there’s room for everyone. Wishing everybody could land on their feet.
👆🏻dis. Yas.
I'm going to just refrain from judgement till
A) the victims stand up and make their claims. Just like every other industry except ours.
B) Ted makes a statement owning it or not.
Just like every other industry except ours.
Anonymous sites are open to malfeasance.
20 complaints filed within the agency or DMA? Genuinely curious and not blindly defending anyone.
CD1 - exactly. I don't trust DMA for shit. If they had stuff we'd know about it.
CD1 - reported to DMA. Not Droga.
