I advanced to the last stage at Facebook (Meta) around a year ago but failed on my last interview, a combination of not being familiar with the process and not having chemistry with the interviewer.

OP - I joined PwC after working in Deloitte HC for several years. While Deloitte Human Capital practice is large and a very well know brand, their projects aren’t that different from PwC when it comes to OCM work. In fact, I see more variety of opportunities here at PwC because we are a smaller practice and we get a chance to experiment a bit more. At Deloitte, you would be part of large assembly line doing same thing again and again. They are big into personal branding and you will be known for one thing and they expect you to excel in that one thing.
Mentor
No.
Moving to a rival firm is not worth it for the same money lol.
Deloitte is a great HC firm, but I wouldn’t go back for the same money as I make now.
I personally love Deloitte Human Capital. Supportive leadership, excellent co-workers, great benefits. I just had a baby and had 6 months mat leave (including the short term disability). I feel like the leadership I’ve worked with genuinely works to build you up and support your growth. I’ve never worked at PwC but if you’re having a similar experience, I’d say stay because you’ve built relationships there. If you leave you’ll have to start over. I’m sure you’ll be fine either way.
The only other consideration is that OCM work might be similar across firms, Deloitte is the undisputed leader in org design (at least in my market) so if that’s where you want to build your skillset, you can consider that. Org design is very different work than OCM and gives you a different type of exposure. Lots of c suite workshops, strategic visioning discussions, etc
100% agree. Change projects tend to be longer term, many months, even over a year and better WLB. Org design is usually a few weeks to 3-4 months in my experience, and because you’re dealing with senior stakeholders there’s more pressure to deliver.
Ahh could you tell me more about your experience at PwC? Currently interviewing for Enhancing People Experience role and very curious about the team, culture, and the projects.
I’m in EPE and never worry about different kinds of project. If you make it known you want diverse projects and you network well, I wouldn’t imagine you’d get bored. Also, hope y’all join us!
I wouldn’t. I work for that team now and I doubt you’d experience anything you’re not already doing at PwC
When you leave your going into the unknown, so unless your escaping a negative you should get paid to make the leap. Generally speaking your biggest salary increases are when you get promoted or when you switch companies. I worked in that area of deloitte and i left for a 20% salary bump. I also did a lateral move into deloitte from industry, but thats the only time i would say its worth to do a lateral pay move, to get into consulting to have a higher salary growth potential (which has panned out) lots of other firms out there that will give you a bump
Not the bikes, another consulting firm
If you want to work in Org Design, Deloitte is much bigger in the market. But, speaking as someone in the OD group, the WLB is awful.
So I would definitely not recommend moving laterally for the same money. The only reason I would move is if you’re thrown a large base salary increase and/or if you truly hate your current firm.
If you’ve complimented the WLB at PwC then it’s likely not worth the move unless Deloitte throws you an offer you can’t refuse.
Plus, side topic, is that as I’m sure you’ve gathered in this app, folks aren’t usually happy with Deloitte. That’s another thing to think about!
Is this in Canada?
I’m hiring for FoW and other practitioners at Edelman Employee Experience
How much are you paying though?
Something you should also consider is your promotion year. If you come to Deloitte, you might not get promoted for another three years. You can get promoted from C to SC in two years but they are moving to more of a three year program
