Where do you want to end up? Those sound more like career change than growth.

Just curious, how much do partners in your firm make?

At this point in your career, the big thing is opening how to get opportunities to make sales and then closing the sales - some people are naturally good at it, but most aren't. That's what will make or break you getting to partner (and possibly to levels on between), so that's what I would focus on

Thank you!

Do employers give any weight to those boot camps? I didn’t think they did

I’m not sure. I should probably ask some leaders in the firm. Thank you.

PMPs are worthless, especially at your level as the assumption would be you have learned and are a good project manager. Honestly at this point it’s more about proving and showing your aptitude at work. Chart out a path to partner and work thru what gaps you have and how to address them. 90% chance this isn’t through run of the mill certifications but rather improving client presence, refining sale acumen, building the right internal relationships/mentorships and more importantly defining your expertise/niche and building upon it to become “known” (self study, intentional project focus, writing thought leadership). The certifications are paper at this point. I’ve got a CPA, a top MBA and a decent amount of certificates and should make partner this year- most of those making the decision don’t know about them or don’t care- they care about the work I do and the client relationships, sales and knowledge I bring (most of which wasn’t as a result of that paper).

Developers are getting paid at scale of 17-25 LPA at experience of 5-6 years. And MBA with (3+2+2) YOE (Pre-MBA-Post) is earning 15-18. Why is the math skewed?

Up for Manager promo in ~18 months and need to pass a certification (most likely CISA). However recently I’ve realized what I’m doing now is not for me long term and want to get my MBA to pivot. Worth it to go straight for GMAT studying instead of certification given the short timeline?

So I am seeing this guy, and whenever we go out for dinner we split the bill 50/50. Like he doesn't even offer to pay. But when we go out for drinks after dinner he pays. He's currently doing his MBA so loans and told me that money was always tight when he was a kid so I get it, but sometimes it's hard not to compare to my ex who used to pay for everything when we went out. But then again he had a range of other issues hence the ex... please offer some respectful thoughts to help me 😊

If you are already a consultant, what are your actual post-MBA goal? Upgrade to MBB? Lateral over to IB for more work and more pay? FAANG for the RSUs? Those are the three paths I’ve identified where the business case holds water. Startups seem great but where’s the payoff?

What should I do? I started my new job a few months ago at a tech company and like my manager; the team; and company. But I just got an offer to join a VC as a Senior Associate/Principal (ie post mba junior level). I had built a relationship with them over the past couple years and they finally have an opening. They’re eager to bring me on and I’m interested for sure (it’s a dream job for me), but my current job is pretty good too (strategy/ops role at a pre-ipo tech company). What should I do?
