I signed an offer letter at a firm and am set to start on Dec 1st. However due to certain circumstances I no longer can join the company. Am I legally allowed to back out if I’ve signed the offer letter?

8400 take-home after maxing tax advantages accounts. I found a new construction home for $2780 monthly payment if I put 3.5% down. Monthly payment includes taxes, insurance, PMI, and HOA. I have no debt. Is this a stretch? I’ve searched Google and used online calculators. I’ve never spent more than $1600 on rent, so I’m nervous about pulling the plug.

At KPMG, was going to go up for M last year but it would have been a tad early (only 2.5 years at senior) so I decided to push it back to this year. This year, after talking about my business case since last summer, I was now just told I won’t even be given the opportunity to go up for M at all, with very weak reasoning.
