Hi everyone, realizing my career may be incompatible with my needs at home (I have a school age child with special needs). Any moms/dads find any companies or jobs in the UX field that are part time? I am wondering if it’s possible to stay in this field or if I need to take a step back and figure out something new. What has worked for any of the working moms/dads out there. My father took a home loan, and the same home is kept as mortgage.
I'm paying arround 22k emi for the same but unable to exempt tax as the loan is on my father's name.

I googled a lot how to transfer it but neither gift deed nor sale deed would work as the property is on mortgage that's under bank's ownership (until loan is fulfilled).
Tax is also getting deducted, I'm paying hefty emis.

Just venting. College friend (same ethnicity but came to US with family as a kid) told me she might get a new job offer w a smaller firm, 50% pay bump. We currently work at comparable big firms but her pay is already higher than mine (hers include stocks, mine doesn’t). We did equally well in college & I know I’m just as smart. Can’t help but feel like my career’d have been much better if I did not need sponsorship. Smaller firms don’t sponsor so I work at a big firm but pay isn’t great 🙄

Hey everyone. I found out we are expecting our first child and I’m really nervous. I got into consulting one year ago and I’m up for promotion this year. With timing of our performance conversations I would have to inform I’m pregnant before outcomes - then shortly after the promotion effective date I would go on a leave for due date. The position is for a transactional role in their real estate practice group, and they are seeking someone with at least 2 YOE. I have a bit over 7 YOE with a strong real estate/commercial lit. background. Over the past two years in my current position, I've been doing a lot more transactional work. The split is around 50% transactional and 50% lit.

I was a financial advisor but the role is commission only so I decided to take a role as an assistant for some time to learn etc. I really like my role, but I only make 32k a year and after taxes I only take home about 25k. I have a gut feeling that I’m not being paid market value but it’s tough to find comparable salaries. Do you think $15.38/hr is a fair wage in this case?
