Do referrals work in sales jobs? I've been in customer service all my life, and I'm trying to pivot into sales. I've been trying to work in this tech sales firm that my friend works in, and even though it's a boutique firm, his referral hasn't been helping me. I feel really disheartened because I know the only way to get jobs these days is to have a referral, and it's scary when even that won't work. Wondering if it's just not the style in the sales world of things, or I'm just straight unlucky over here?

I've been offered for Engineering expert position at Novartis India. I've received offer letter 2 weeks back and my DOJ is updated to Mid December. I told the HR that my current company's last working day is on mid January and resend the offer letter with mid Jan as my DOJ. But they told that they can send the revised offer letter 3 weeks before the joining date.
Is this normal process? Has anyone gone through similar experience?

l interviewed for Deloitte (India not USI) in January, and accepted an offer letter with DOJ of 25th April, later HR asked me to join on 11th April for which I agreed. Now I haven't received the revised offer letter or any links other than BGV and Pre-Hire form from Deloitte and now the HR is not even picking my calls or responding to emails.

Any advice on what to do?
