Hello people, how common is a Amazon to PWC move ?
I’m interviewing for a Senior Associate role and TC seems to be more competitive than role in L5.
TC $114k- Base AMZ- $73k +$38kstocks ( vesting 17k$ due next year)
TC $135k Base PWC -$81$ + Bonuses ( 50k$)
Looking for managerial skills which the PWC role avails, and L6 promo doesn’t seem to be happening soon in current role. I’m also mentally stretched. I hear WLB in PWC is just as busy but can anyone confirm if this move makes any sense. Google Amazon

Salaried employees do not typically work “shifts”. Eother way, the answer to the question is highly dependent on firm and industry. In finance we generally take lunch at desk and work from 8-5 or 8-6; in consulting it was all over the place- my team generally ate lunch together, I saw many teams eating at their desk. At my first firm (also finance) people went out to get food but often ate at their desk.
I typically work 9 and just eat lunch somewhere in there. Some days I will work 8 and take an hour but lately I have not had time/haven’t wanted to work later/earlier to make up for it.
Our company expect us to clock in 7.5 hrs a day so we can set aside 30 minutes a day (9-5) for lunch
It does not impact the amount of money that I receive. Same bi-weekly paychecks based on my annual salary
I work anywhere from 10 hours to 80 hours weeks. The assumption is that it evens out.
Some if us, salaried employees, are working 10-12 a day and we don’t know what means lunch.
It is what it is, when it is a crisis.
Depends. I work 9-6 sadly in auto industry. One hour lunch is automatically accounted for.
I get paid for 8 of 9 hours
Our company is flex on this. You can do 8.5 hours and take 1/2 hour lunch or do 9 hours and take 1 hour lunch. Either way your working hours are supposed to be 8. We are also flexible on the times if you are not customer facing.
What’s a lunch?
This
What the hell is an 8 hr shift? What is lunch?
I work 8-4:30 and have a 1 hour lunch. I work 7.5 hours per day.
I work based on what needs to get done. It can be 35-80 hours/week
All bets are off when entertaining clients
I’m “available” from 7am - 4pm.
I usually only work about 5 hours a day. 🤷🏻♀️
My hours are all over the place (6 hour days to 18 hour days, normally around 9) and so are my lunches (I’ll take 20 minutes, an hour and a half, or just eat at my desk). Meal breaks aren’t typically required or monitored for salaried employees, and although some have regular hours, typically you can set your schedule as long as you get your work done.
included obviously
7.5 hours of work not including lunch. I often work over so I take time back too!
