Do you ever just want to drop everything, leave PA and travel for 6-12 months? I’m 3.5 years in, almost a CPA and content in my job, but for a solid year that thought has entered my mind many times.

Curious if anyone else is or has been in the same boat. I started as an assistant at an entertainment law firm prior to passing the bar. Upon passing, the partner told me they would hire an assistant for me since I now became an associate. That was 1.5 years ago and I am still in the limbo of juggling my own workload + doing assistant roles for my supervisors. I have also had no increase in pay, which is a huge deal for me. Is this normal in the entertainment world? Any suggestions?

Hi all. I was recently diagnosed with bipolar disorder type 2 and it’s been hard to heal with the ups and downs of a very competitive sales position in the current market. Before taking FMLA for 12 weeks I was a top performer. Any advice from those that also live with bipolar disorder, or advice on a potentially a less stressful position to ease out of sales? How much stock do you put on benefits? I have two offers with stark differences in benefits. Job 1: role I want, but benefit sucks (2 weeks paternity leave, 20% coinsurance). Job 2: role is okay but higher level and great benefits (16 weeks paternity, 0% coinsurance, 5 more days of vacation). Total comp is the same though. I wonder if I should just focus on role but Job 2 is a large company, so I can move around after 2-3 years I’d expect. Thoughts?
