RSD can feel crippling.
Rising Star
I have had managers emphasize both speed and accuracy, and I've asked them to qualify and quantify precisely what they mean by that, so I am on the same page and meeting their expectations.
I didn't approach it as accommodating me personally, but rather being specific and measurable in their guidance. If they prefer I do less quality control in favor of tasks getting done by a deadline, then I want them to say that, and accept there may be some mistakes made to achieve on time completion.
If they try to say both things are important, then I ask them how much time is "too much" to spend on quality checks?
I feel this so much!
Also the RSD is tough. I'm in marketing and accidentally sent an email out with a small mistake last week. I went from 0 to a quit-and-change-my-name shame spiral in less than 30 seconds.
Also can feel overwhelmed and then start crying (to myself) about feeling useless in the same breath.
It can be so exhausting, can't it?
Yes, it is exhausting. And then combined with a lot of critiques when I'm trying to put together SOPs to capture all the little details that I miss or nuanced rules we have for certain pieces of content. I feel like I'm constantly failing.
