Does anyone know any good admission consultants that have a free first session? I'm looking to find out whether applying in R2 with a quite decent but not outstanding profile is a terrible idea. Aggregating a few options from them would be really useful!

I did free consultants with Stacy Blackman and stratus and ended up going with stratus

Greg Guglielmo of Avanti Prep does a free consultation - mine went nearly 1.5 hours. He’s fantastic and got into two M7s with his help.

Stacy Blackman and Menlo Coaching are kind of the gold standard of admission consultants. Both have free first sessions that I used and learned a lot from.

Down because I got some upsetting (work-related) news yesterday. I was up for promotion and did not get it, basically for my actual job that I have been acting in for over a year. I had perfect reviews and perfect on the technical portion of the interview. Apparently they dinged me on something subjective relating to situational competencies. Colleagues—who I trained and mentored—did receive promotion and we will all be working at the same job, just them at higher level and pay. Contd.
