Deloitte was offering to rehire some of the people they laid off during Covid. Not sure how broad that was but saw it on here.
It happened to a former colleague of mine: laid off by an office in Europe (poor performance + didn’t show up at several client meetings) but he got hired in the US. Miracles happen guys, it only depends how desperate the market is 😂
Most likely not, recruiters usually know you are former KPMG and they almost always ask previous group
I thought so too. One of my friends said he was laid off from kpmg US but he had come from UK, and KPMG UK asked if he wants to come back, they will hire him. So I got confused on how can he do that.
Yes.
Never happens
🤯
I hired someone after he got let go during a large “re-org” in one of our internal support service lines. He was unemployed for like three months. I had posted my req, he had applied and recruiting wasn’t able to move fast enough.
Laid off doesn’t mean bad performance, why not rehire?
Hahah no I had few guys when I worked at KPMG that was up for promotion and got laid off if the business wants to target 5% across the board, you may eliminate someone that is a high performer. We did hire him back 3 years later as a managing director . Many layoffs occurs by role and not performance. If they don’t want to pursue a certain business they they eliminate it. So you can be a rock star at selling rockets but if the business decides it doesn’t want to sell rockets guess what your no longer needed even if you sold 2 billion dollars of rockets
