I really wanna love this (because who hasn't thought about doing it), but professionally it's not a good look. Definitely curious what the fallout will be, but doesn't sound like a fireable offense to me unless this is a problem with more than one person.
I recommend a career coach to help you learn how to express yourself productively before you hit your breaking point. You might have felt good in the moment but my guess is you will be really embarrassed in the long run. I would apologize as soon as possible.
@OP whattttt he's gone now?! Need more details!
Go you
Apologize if you wanna keep your job
Let's try to make this the new norm. I think that's what's meant by Radical Candor
There is no polite way to tell someone to STFU in a group setting. The only times it's acceptable is if someone is being verbally abusive or if you're on a call to 911 and someone won't STFU...and even then you should try to take the high-road.
We've all been there, but you fucked-up and should apologize. We need fewer people acting like pricks to each other, not more.
^kidding. Not the supervisor (but inept all the same)
Should have said it to the client instead
Felt like doing that today
What is a polite way to tell someone to stfu? What words would you use? (Looking g at you, SDP1).
Rooting for you, OP.
OP what happened???
Good for you. I don't think you will be fired for that, but things are going to be awkward for a while.
If you said it with a cheeky smile and an overly elaborate waft of the arm you'll probably be alright won't you?.. hello..
10,000 people in company DLBi1. Unlikely that others in the meeting are on this thread. But if so, by now the superior knows that not only did OP yell at him/her but also thinks that superior is inept.
Gotta know what happened.
If it happened once you should be okay, but why don't you talk to him or her about it and apologize.
Naw u didnt
PLOT TWIST: They were on the chopping block this week. 🗡
I'm sure someone else on the bowl was in the meeting... how out of line was this person? (Op and "inept superior"?!?!
OP did you live to see another day?
