What was the best part of your week?
I'll be joining tw as UI Lead, soon.
I'm a javascript/react developer since inception of my career & haven't worked much on CICD/JENKINS and similar technology.
Should I be worried that as a lead I don't know these and will it affect by job security?
Ps- I'm good at UI,js, react etc.
Thoughtworks
Experts please help.

You’re trying to get a different bank to give you a better offer. A better offer could be a lower interest rate or perhaps a reduction of your closing costs through a lender credit.
However, note that while any hard pull to your credit within 2 weeks of your first credit pull do not affect your credit score. Hard inquiries after the 2 week period will start reflecting negatively (albeit minimally). The recommendation is that you shop around during the 2 week period.
They want proof. When you apply for a mortgage, banks are legally required to provide a “Loan Estimate” which has these key numbers
In general the best place is the place with the best rates. That being said when I interned at nfcu they made a big deal about how they keep their mortgages on their books instead of securitizing and claimed this allowed them to be more flexible when members called in who were experiencing economic hardship. So I suppose if that kind of thing matters to you then they are superior.
In terms of shopping many places will match rates so if you already have the pre-approval that gives you some leverage. You can also go through a broker if you want.
There are some affiliate programs that will help you with costs. They often require you to let the lender choose your realtor. Nfcu's is called Realty Plus
The best place I’ve found is Better Mortgages. Everything is online, their process is streamlined and the have the lowest rates I’ve seen. They also don’t tend to have origination fees. The only downside is if you have “unusual income” like RSUs, trust income, or something else.

Yes, credit union is better than big banks
In general, small banks or small teams give much better rates because they don’t have to earn enough to pay huge bonuses to executives nor make shareholders rich
I work in real estate in NoVa
Navy Federal is the only bank that left me hanging at the closing table ever - I’d never use them again.
Get several offers from local lenders, credit unions and big banks. Personal recommendations: Apple FCU, CapCenter, Fairfax mortgage.
Then bounce the offers off them. Lenders can lower the rates to win your business, but they need a reason to do it.
You have 2 weeks to “shop around” once credit is pulled.
I recommend using a mortgage broker for best deal & NOT a bank or credit union. Get credit pulled within 2 week period. Definitely don’t put your name into those mortgage rate websites as they will robo-call you 24/7. Shop rates & 💯 a broker will do a better job. Here are 2 brokers who I refer - you can say Paula Acker referred you - I don’t get any compensation - I am a Real Estate agent

Thank you.
When people say to take your pre approval letter and “shop” with different lenders, what Exactly does that mean? What are you trying to do if you already have the pre approval?
Are you using VA? there should not be anything down. I even think they have a new loan program if Vets do not have the VA option.
I am not, no
Go to a Housing Authority and speak with a specialist on site. They will tell you the best rate in North VA and much more! You won't regret it.
